I found footage of on youtube, and it got me really excited. Are the programmers ever going to complete the game?
From what I understand the development has been completed but there are concerns releasing it because of copyrights. You might want to contact Bigmak (http://www.planetvb.com/modules/usercenter/index.php?section=profile&uid=648) to get some more background. He also knows how to make potato salt by only using mayonnaise.
Do you know if there is a rom to the complete game if it’s finished? I bought a Virtual Boy with flash boy around the holidays, and would really like to try this if a rom is out there.
The only rom that has been released is the demo from this thread: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=5295&forum=2
This Rom is well worth trying out. It shows off what could be a excellent game, as well as the power potential of the virtual boy.

Unfortunately the completed rom wouldn’t fit on a flashboy. There was a post a while back where they said they were going to have to make a special 32 megabit cart for this game. In fact I think that was why this hasn’t been released, it wasn’t cost effective to make and sell those carts, and give some to the developer. That and the copyright worries.
Your best bet is to play the demo as it still fits on the 16 megabit flashboy.
Thanks for all of the information everyone. Hate to hear that about this game as it seems so promising. I just down loaded the demo and am going to fire it up on the flash boy.
i will also suggest that you contact BigMak for more information. he has been involved with past reproduction/prototype releases and will have more information for you. give it a try.
I will contact them. the demo is really fun. I’ve been switching between it and Mario clash on my flash boy all weekend lol.
would be nice to get this game. Since this is based on the PC Engine version it is even more awesome ^^
Well I have seen that speedyink has posted a review on YouTube of a complete copy of the game through UncleTusker and VectrexRoli2 has posted pictures on his Facebook page.
It will never be officially released to us though, but maybe one day someone will make a non copyrighted fighter for Virtual Boy?

Yes, I posted the video after I was given the OK to do so.
It is unfortunate it ended up the way it did, but MK’s fighting engine could be used for a game starring different characters, right? Maybe someone will make it happen one day.
Honestly it could have been done from the beginning. lol, but hindsight is 20/20.
That’s true, but what would be the fun of developing if you can’t make something that you really want to make sometimes?
The way I see it, between MK’s engine and the knowledge this person must have gained by this, the foundation is there now, so it could help pave the way for a future game.
I really don’t see the point as that’s a lot of sprites, and sound effects to be changed out; enough to the point that just doesn’t seem worth the effort at all to convert it into a new game. We’re talking custom songs, sound effects and new sprites for multilevel area backgrounds, characters with several movements and such. Not to mention all the sprites need to be created twice to create the parallax effect, it’s probably 2 years of conversion time because we are talking very small development teams.
I mean, I could be wrong but I am seriously doubting that anyone wants to spend all that time to create a second game from the already built one that took several years to complete.
I mean I was sent this demonstration image of the game a very long time ago.

Hmm, when you put it that way.. I see your point.
Wow, that’s a neat picture, it’s cool to see it so early in development!
I wonder if the full ROM will get released. It would be nice for people to at least be able to play it in Mednafen, I know it’s not the same but hey, it’s better than nothing.
why can’t there be a real release of this game? or a rom of the full game for our flash boys? can’t it be resized with the flash boy padder? I would really like to play this game on my flash boy and im sure lots of other people would as well.
Even if it was fully released, we would only be able to emulate it because its too large of a file; Flashboy+ cannot contain its extremely large file size. Besides emulating it would be no better then just playing the already available other versions that are in color. But I have tried the demo version of my Flashboy+ and its quite impressive even in demo version.
The game would have to be substantially lessened as its twice as big as what a FlashBoy+ can hold. Also being fully released would not really matter beyond just curiosity as we can play full color versions on other consoles. Maybe one day a large capacity version of FlashBoy will be made?
people have been able to resize games before to make them work on flash carts, like star ocean on snes theres a hack that resizes it to fit on an everdrive. theres other hacks like that too.
the curiousity thing is like saying theres no point in playing wario on vb because there are games of his in color. the vboy has a charm of its own and it would be great to be able too play this gem.
