I just purchased a used VB, and it seems to work great. No lines on the screen, good cosmetic condition. But, no matter how I adjust the focus/diopter, it seems the edges of the screen are a bit blurry. Like in Mario Tennis, the score area on the left or right is a bit blurry. Also, the VB squares are a bit blurry as well. If I move my head a bit, I can make them clearer, but looking straight in, it’s not. Is this normal? Thanks!
I’d say no, it might be out of alignment. There’s a code or something… Lemme see. Ok found it on one of my bookmarks.
“you should check the alignment by inserting a game and pressing Left, B, Down, A, Up on the right D-Pad.”
This could be that your IPD (interpupillary distance) simply lies outside the VB’s range. If you need the IPD knob to be set at either maximum or minimum, you’ll probably just have to get used to it (unless you can either shrink or enlarge your head, respectively ;-)).
Also here is what you are supposed to see when you enter the code at the game’s spash screen. You should see in each eye 2 lines one horizontal and one vertical it’s a total of 4 lines all together the two horizontal are identical the two vertical are differant one on the left side and one on the right side. The lines must intersect if they do not your system is out of alignment.
Ok, did the alignment check and I see one horizontal lines, and two vertical lines. They sorta intersect, BUT the horizontal line intersects at the very top of the horizontal line. I assume they should be in the middle?
Hello everyone,
I know i haven’t checked in for a while, and am a noob at anything technical,so i won’t be any help with solving your problem Jive.
But…..
I also have a problem with my VB.
I don’t know if i’m in the right thread, but it seemed fitting.
I recently purchased a very cheap vb,which was a gamble on my part, because it was sold as is.
When i received it,i tested it and it worked like a charm.
I couldn’t be more happy!
Fast forward a couple of months and i hadn’t used it in that time,
I thought: lets try out my newly purchased headphones for it.
To my shock it started to make a tremor like sound every few seconds when i turned it on,and after 4 times it made the sound,it seemded to shut down/power of.
I have looked at a few forum posts and Googled the problem, but was not able to find any answers to what it might be.
I do see the lenses/shutters move but there is no picture/startup screen.
Anyone any thoughts on this?
P.S. I am sorry if i posted this in the wrong thread or if i am stepping out line here.
In any case, thanks for any reply or help.
What you may want to do is post this in the main forum so that it can be more easily seen. Hope you get the problem worked out!

Been researching how to adjust the alignment, but how do you know, say in my case, whether the verticals are too low, OR if the horizontal is too high?
Hmm, I have this problem too, I just thought it was normal. I find it’s just at the very top and bottom of the screen, and like you I can move my head slightly to view either the top or the bottom crystal clear, but never all clear at the same time. I’ll check my alignment too..
Ok, my alignment looks like the attached picture. Looks fine to me.
No amount of IPD and focus adjustment fixes this for me, sliding all the way to the right does pretty much fix it but then the center is more fuzzy. I’m pretty sure this is the edges of the plastic lenses I’m seeing. Not sure if a new set of lenses would fix this or if it’s just a property of the plastic when it’s being formed. Either way, I rarely notice it as not a whole lot is happening on the very top and bottom edges of the screen at any given time. The only times I can think of where I noticed it was when I was checking my score.

i have this same problem, as my alignment is fine i relate this issue to the red lenses. just like you i see the right and left edges a bit fuzzy, and when i move my head everything becomes clear. i’ve been toying with the idea of custom replacement lenses that are flat, perhaps made out of glass.
Thank you for the advise, that i shall.
And i hope you resolve your vb problem.
