Do you think Virtual Boy deserved to take off?

Yes it did desrve more than it got but at the time it didn’t stand much of a chance.
Press hated it, cost a heap, rushed to be released, assumed wrongly as the successor to the Gameboy (having ‘boy’ in the title made that one stick). Along with a stack of other issues all been outlined before (ie I’m too lazy to dig em out and re-iterate whats been said before).
If only it had been relaunched as was planned, we might have at least had some of the 2nd generation gems, Dragon Hopper etc, even if it only managed another year on the shelf.
But at least it did get released, imagine if all we ever got were a few pre-release photos and statements, then nothing, got pulled before production.

If Virtual Boy would of succeeded we’d have full color Virtual Boys by now and that would be beyond sweet. 🙂 In stead of having to settle for a 3d full color system where zelch flys off of the screen. Is that really 3d yes and no? You don’t go to a 3d movie to see depth, but to see things fly in your lap now that’s the wow factor that only the V.B. could offer!

Your right………………………i think

Imagine that VB was succesfull , we’ll have a Virtual Boy 2 like this : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/sony/8733507/Sony-launches-3D-head-mounted-display-visor.html

Nintendo invents Sony copies ,as usual .

Anyway , Sony will allow to connect PS3 with this 3DHead !! ( I heard PS Virtual ? )

Sony introduces the Sony 3D Visor, a Head Mounted Display

If I existed back in 1995 and I were at least 7 years old, I would’ve wanted/saved up for a Virtual Boy!

Oh, god Sony. Try to think of something genuine once!
