Adventures in the 3rd Dimension is a YouTube series I’m making where I review every released game for the Virtual Boy and give my honest opinion on it. I have a very weird soft spot for the system (as do all of you 😀 ) and wanted others to see more than just an angry, hateful review of the games and system. Eventually I’d like to cover homebrew titles and other things people may not have known about.
PlanetVB user Dreammary helped name the series when I initially started and had no name for it yet.

Nice. I’m glad to see Waterworld getting its due. I actually think it’s one of the best VB games. The analogy to Asteroids is good – it’s a 3D, 360 degree Asteroids. In fact, it’s the only released VB game with true, smooth 360 degree gameplay. (Insmouse’s choppy, jarring 360 degree function is so bad it barely counts.)
Looking forward to checking out the other reviews.
Thanks! I was kinda surprised how playable Waterworld was once I knew what I was doing. I’m glad the 3D Asteroids reference made sense. I was worried the idea would come off as nonsense. I’ve yet to do Insmouse yet as I was waiting to have it physically (thanks to you I have it now 😀 )

Not to worry, it will be done in the near future 🙂 All games will get their time to shine
Cool! Not my favorite game, but it’s pretty unique. I just can’t seem to get the hang of it, so I can’t even get thru the first round. When I turn, I just seem to lose all sense of where I am, and where I’m facing. Don’t know why. Hopefully you have better luck.

Oh I’m not gonna lie, I was SOOOOOOOOOOO lost when I first played that game. Since I was reviewing it, I forced myself to play for hours/days to get deep enough into it to review. At the end of it I wound up better at it lol
I have watched them all and will continue to do so! The world needs more VB exposure!

Thanks for the support! This series is the most fun I’ve had making videos since I did my Link Cable & Hyper Fighting video. The VB is where my heart is. 🙂

Guess which game is this week’s topic 😉
I even got the help of some other YouTubers with a couple parts that needed “voice acting.” The series has more fans than I thought (that aren’t heavily into the VB like us anyway). I’m waiting on the one person to send me their audio and I can finish up the video.
The comic made it sound like an awesome game but the actual gameplay looked like the worst game on VB.

It’s a shame the controls are so bad. The game does’t have potential.
I…actually don’t mind v lab at all. Yeah it’s painfully clear that it was rushed, but it’s a game I can sink some time in. Just gotta get past those laggy controls, which can definitely be frustrating. Plus that dancing girl on the side just makes me lol.

I agree. I loved the comic for it and the design of the “Mu” were adorable in it. It had a lot of potential if it had just a LITTLE more time I think.

The controls took me a while to kind of adjust to. I think it had some potential. I could see it being as good as Dr. Mario if it had a little more polish on it.

Nothing wrong with enjoying V-Lab. I love plenty of games people consider crap lol. Lisa was the best part of the game. I laughed at her boobs bouncing around for no reason and her artwork was cute.
Maybe someone in the community could polish it like what was done to “Faceball” and “Bound High!”?

I actually wanted to say that virtual lab does have potential. Just a typo. However, it will never be as good as Dr. Mario because Dr. Mario is the best game ever made.
Fix might be possible.
That would be cool if it got the repair treatment and we all got “Virtual Lab: Remastered.”

Ah ok, I wasn’t sure if it was a typo or not. Dr. Mario the best game? Those are fighting words to me jk 😛 The best game ever made is The Adventures of Lolo lol
Thunderstruck, how difficult would a fix for it be considering it’s been said to be a coding mess?
Seeing a remastered version would be nice, Dreammary. I would definitely spend more time on V-lab if it was made a little more playable.
If it gets remastered then I wanna be on the list for purchase as I like that type of game.
