Hello!
I just joined the forum after reading topics for awhile
and eventually deciding that I should join this friendly forum…
I had a bit of trouble with registering but thanks to the really helpful Kr155E I finally can post things now
Anyways, facts about me (and my red friend): I am a Yokoi fan (as you could tell by username) and have a Virtual Boy (who doesn’t here? :P) that I got just last year in Winter, I nicknamed it “Virty” due to me giving silly names to all of my consoles/handhelds, all I have is Mario’s Tennis but my goal is to collect every Virtual Boy game released (and maybe search for prototypes/demos too)
long live our red friend π
Hello and welcome to the forums. π
These forums have a wealth of information, and the vast majority of members are friendly and helpful.
I wish you the best of luck with your collection. While Mario’s Tennis is a fun little game, you absolutely must play around with a few more games. Wario is fantastic, Vertical Force is an enjoyable shmup, and Red Alarm is an affordable Star-Fox like game with very immersive 3D feel. Aside from WaterWorld, I doubt you would dislike any of the titles on the platform. A lot of folks also dislike Virtual Lab, but I find it to be a cool little puzzle game so what do I know? π
And just to get it out of the way, if you have problems with your VB display being glitchy, please search these forums and you can learn how to repair it and/or find some members here that offer to do the repairs.
As for prototypes, even if one was to surface, plan on selling your car to afford it. π
Welcome to the community! RidingHero said pretty much everything, but I’d like to add: if you do (or ever thought about doing) any game development, make sure and take a look at the VB Development Wiki.
What? no “hello”‘s and “welcome”‘s to my red friend Virty? π
Just kidding! …unless of course if you do want to say Hi, thats fine too π
Well I haven’t heard virty saying hello himself π
But welcome (both of you) I’m sure you’re gonna like it. I started collecting VB games only months ago and expect to soon finally receive the last US game I still needed. Don’t really want the japanese games actually, I guess in the end I’m more in to it for the games then actually collecting (ok, I bought titles like waterworld to complete my US collection :p) since gaming on VB is great!
Also try visiting planet3ds.net it’s a very new site about the 3DS (duh) if you’re interested (don’t leave here though π― ).
probably because he isn’t on or connected with any power source right now… or hes just shy of new people, due to so many haters out in the world π
oh and I am planning on getting the 3DS (a red/black one), I have looked at the Planet 3DS site before too…
also in response to DanB: what? have you never greeted your Virtual Boy before? π
