The Associated Press and British Movietone have recently started uploading their massive video archive to YouTube. The channels will “include more than 550,000 video stories dating from 1895 to the present day”.

On the 20th anniversary of the Virtual Boy’s Japan launch, an interesting two-and-a-half minute compilation of raw video footage from the Virtual Boy booth on the Shoshinkai 1994 show has been uploaded.

I wish the footage showed what that first guy was playing. =)

Nice to see that Mario Virtual Boy animatic for the first time! Looks like these that were produced for JP stores:

What he was playing was certainly the precursor to Mario Clash, which looked very much like the very first Mario Bros. game, so the one even before Super Mario Bros. 1. One can see an image of that early version of Mario Clash here: http://www.planetvb.com/uploads/newbb/1643_512ad420c65ef.jpg

Thus, he wouldn’t have been playing a demo of the unreleased VB Mario Land, which is actually a good thing, or else I would be terribly jealous.
