How to convince your partner that video games are a good investment? Watch and learn! I also show you some of the more valuable items in my video game collection.
I hope at least some of you might find those expert tips helpful and entertaining. 😉
Great video Roli, and funny too.
Now in real life, how does your wife view your gaming?
She likes point & click adventures, she plays some 3DS and GBA games from time to time and she is quite good in light gun games like Point Blank 2 and 3 for the Playstation 1. 😉
But she does not care so much for Vectrex and Virtual Boy stuff.
Keep those great videos coming! After that last one I had to watch the ol Vectrex 3d Imager one.
In reality, video games are not a good investment. Take NES for example, only about 25 – 30 games are actually worth a lot of money (over $100). That leaves over 600 worthless games, not counting unlicensed titles. Most systems are like this, the majority of games are worth less than $30 each.
SNES is one of the only exceptions to this rule, a lot of titles cost over $100 now, more than NES. That’s simply due to hype though.
Good video! I laughed pretty hard at the blah blah part. I can’t believe you have three boxed versions of the gameboy light! Those things aren’t cheap! I kinda wish I had a box for mine now =P
Luckily my partner doesn’t mind me collecting video games, he thinks it’s kind of cool actually. He also spends more than me on his goodies, so he can’t say squat about my video games =P
Thanks for all your feedback. I am glad you liked it.
I bought most of the stuff a long time ago and compared to today that stuff was “cheap”.
I think that some items might be a good investment if you keep them for a few years as long there is still a hype around old video games, but to be honest I am more interested in having fun with the stuff in my collection.

I hear this quite a bit, reeeeally makes me wish I got into collecting years ago, I could have saved a lot of money =P
Oh well, like you said, I just want to have fun. I love these old games way more than the newer ones. There’s just something special about the retro games.
they are a good investment if you know when to sell, I once owned 3 of the mario tennis boxs that i bought in 2000 for $4 each, look what there worth now!
