Not too long ago I hinted at a project that I have been working on. I wish, now, to unleash it upon you – my trusted gaming companions.
I have designed an 18″ wide by 24″ tall poster titled “Control Freak”
This poster is to be printed on high quality paper made by “The French Paper Co.” The specific paper to be used is in the Pop-Tones line, with the choice of color being Black Licorice.
This is a screen printed poster, so it will have that retro feel like old band posters from the 70’s and 80’s had… none of that slick shiny stuff. π It is a 4 color print (if they can pull off the halftones, or 5 colors if they can’t.)
I am dying to have this poster see the light of day, so I am planning on launching a Kickstarter campaign to make it happen. Before I do that, though, I wanted to see what you guys thought of it.
Can you identify all the different controllers? π
Since it is screen printed it is a bit more expensive than a regular poster… I was planning on offering it at the $25.00 level with FREE USA shipping. I might make other rewards using the same artwork (probably arranged differently) for people who want to contribute but don’t want the full poster.
What do you think?

Looks pretty cool. All of the controllers are easily recognizable and the grey/white/red stile gives the poster a unique feel. I also like how the controllers seem to expand from the right bottom corner. Just out of curiosity: Is there are reason for the bigger space between the letters T and R in the word CONTROL. All of the others are rather near to each other.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen all of those controllers before, especially since I’ve been watching a lot of the Angry Video Game Nerd episodes recently, except for that controller in the uppermost right corner of the poster. I’ve never seen that before and don’t currently know what system it belongs to.
My Zapper is orange with a grey secondary color and a black trigger. Yours is grey with a white secondary color and an orange (red) trigger.

Yeah… those are the two main variations that I’m aware of.

Hahahaha… That’s from the Fairchild Channel F console. π
Someone else noted a strange gap between the T and the R in the word CONTROL… I’ll fix that.
Great poster! As a retro game enthusiast, I think I might have to buy one. π

Yeah, I remember that one. There was also the “Video Command” controller for the Atari 2600 which was an exact copy of the Fairchild controller.
Just found this website: http://www.rogeribars.com/ It shows high quality pics of all kinds of controllers including all kinds of information. The VB controller is of course included.
I am impressed you used a Mark I Saturn controller in the poster. Very impressed indeed! Seems to have more NES/Famicom controllers than others… lol… A preference for the NES/Famicom it would seem.
If its not too late I would like throw in two controller suggestions, one of which would make good with the colour scheme:

(The black/red might go well with the scheme you have on the poster there)

*shrugs* Any good?

Wow… Never saw those before. The first one is pretty cool, but the design is finalized at this point, so I’m not able to add any more.
The Kickstarter campaign launches as soon as Amazon Payments verifies my bank account. I’ll let you guys know about it.
