Original Post

Superstar VB homebrewer Martin Kujaczynski has just launched an indiegogo crowdfunding campaign in order to be able to spend the rest of the year finishing up his VB Music Tracker, the respective sound player code, as well as a new game called “Bombenleger”, that bears a striking resemblence to Bomberman.

Most homebrew games and demos for the Virtual Boy have inferior sound and music due to the lack of proper sound tools. To change that fact I started the development of a music tracker that will allow developers and composers to create high quality music for the Virtual Boy. At the moment the tool is half-finished. If the funding campaign is successful, I will spend the next few weeks working full time on the project to complete it till the end of December.
To raise interest in the campaign I decided to pair it with the development of a small but fun game for the VB. It’s similar to a well know game, where you have to make your way through a labyrinth by placing bombs to destroy walls and defeat enemies.

The campaign will run for a week only two weeks and requires €1,200 to be raised. Let’s make it a success!

Very cool! This is much needed!

Backed!

I totally agree! I wonder why nobody got around to doing this before MK would.

I’m more excited for the game. I paid 150 euros to make the game look much more handsome. You are welcome everybody.

I want to contribute, but IGG won’t accept my CC unless the campaign is in the U.S., and I don’t feel comfortable putting my debit card in there.

Would it be possible to PayPal some money to one of the existing contributors, and have him/her back it on my behalf? Or, if you’re reading this Martin, could we just buy a copy after you’re done, via PayPal? (Which, unfortunately, won’t help get the IGG funding…)

I wouldn’t mind doing that for you, Runnerpack. We can just let MK know to ship the item direct to you instead of me.

Backed!

Excited for the tracker!

and of today, it’s been (over) 100% funded! with five days left, no less 😮

Yay! Earlier, I read RetroRGB’s post about the tracker, and it says that it might come by February, unless that’s just the Bombenleger game.

Backed… Can’t wait!! 🙂

Any word on this?

@KommodoreKaplan MK told me last month that all backers get an early-access version of the music tracker by the end of this year. Probably.

Anyone heard anything yet? Didn’t get any response on indiegogo when I sent a message.

I imagine Martin is just MIA as usual. He’s one of the most elusive people on this site.

Since he apparently backed out on the early access perk, here’s to hoping the February deadline hasn’t been tossed out the window as well…

Is this still slated for February?

Haven’t heard anything either so for now it’s 50/50. 😛

Now that February has come and gone, I’m going to assume that there’s little chance of this seeing release any time soon.

I wonder if he’s still developing this project after all.

Guessing no one heard anything?

Got a response from Martin today. Tracker should hopefully be ready by next week and the game with other perks in 3-4 weeks. 🙂 :vb:

I know it’s going to be exciting as soon as this tracker comes out. Hopefully, but maybe, the songs he played in this video will be released as demo songs that come included with the tracker.

For now until then, I’ll just stick to DefleMask if I want to make some VB-style tunes using the PC Engine mode. Although the PC Engine/TurboGrafx16 doesn’t have the same soundchip as the VB, they both are comparable.
