The easiest thing to do to find any games posted on this site, which aren’t included in the site’s main Games section, is to browse through the “News Archives” under the “NEWS” link.
Actually, the reason I asked if it was on the Games page was to look for reviews. Even though it’s a hack of a prototype, it would be nice to know how it stacks up to the original prototype, or other games for that matter in the community’s eyes. Besides a video or two out there, have folks ranked the game? Just curious.
There is currently no means for PVB members to rate the game on this site, like they can with the original prototype game or with homebrew games, so searching the internet for reviews is about the only way to find out what others might think of it. I think that most will agree that there is certainly a lot more to the remastered version than the original prototype, so more levels, more enemies, and a much higher difficulty challenge. So if you like the prototype version and just want more to the game, then the remastered version might be just right for you! (That’s my quick, biased opinion of it, since I designed half of the new levels in the remastered version.)
I like both versions. It’s best to just play them on a flash cart to try the differences, but here’s the basics:
Prototype:
Easier
Only some levels included
Japanese title screen
Controls a little less refined
Some enemies included
Remastered:
Harder
New levels created to fill in missing levels
Title screen now english
Slightly revamped controls to match modern games.
Missing enemies are now used
