I am unsure when the deadline is since it’s GMT, so if it’s past the deadline then oh well, I guess. πŸ™‚ This file should have everything I used to make the game.

Argh. I’m at work right now. Can you post some pics? This sounds interesting.

Here’s a picture of the game in action.
EDIT: There seems to be some sort of bug where I can’t attach pictures. I’ll try again later.
EDIT: Why aren’t PNG images allowed? Here is a GIF one.

Thanks for the pics. I just played. Even though it might not the most technical advanced entry it is a very clever game design.

I was never any good a crosswords but now iv got a good reason to start practising. Nice work.

Nice job. Very clever. I like the 3D words idea as well. I don’t think I would have thought of that.

This is actually pretty fun. I’m not usually into crosswords, but when you put them on the VB somehow they get better.

The 3D concept is a great idea. Good job! I’m definitely gonna have to finish all the puzzles =P

Heh, that’s pretty cool! I’m not much of a crossword person, but the 3D technique is pretty unique.

Doo dee doodle-a deeeee! I solved puzzle 1 πŸ˜€ Good job, Chris.

*sorry for my spelling..long day at work and i’m pretty tired.

Great entry Chris πŸ™‚ I think this is your best homebrew to date.

Few things. I think the 3-d effect might be in the wrong direction. Your bottom puzzle is the closest to the screen..but the top puzzle has the brightest outline ?

All the letters seem to be on the same plane (?) Took me a min or realize this, seems to me that the letters should be on the same plane as the grid ?

Maybe i’m missing something on the controls (heh prob me) but when you are moving around and solving words the default letter is ‘a’ and not blank. I can’t even select blank. So, if you are going around solving words you end up with a bunch of a’s on the screen.

Although a great deal more tech. advanced..but, a 3-d cube that you could manipulate and see 3-d letters would really make this homebrew stand out and let the effects of the virtual boy be more ..prominent (sp?). But, don’t take advise from me..i can’t even code ‘hello world’ on the vboy πŸ™‚

But, overall I enjoyed it πŸ™‚ Very solid entry Chris and I’m happy you made the game. Makes me want to put my hand on your head and mess up your hair. Atta boy Chris..keep up the good work.

This is actually quite fun. Ive played it much longer than the other entries that doesn’t mean that it gets my vote. Just that it is a good game in it’s own right.

Great entry! Looking forward to checking it out!

I agree this is a cool concept! I couldn’t put it down until I had solved the whole puzzle πŸ™‚
Good job!

Interesting concept for a VB game. It is pretty hard to stop playing once you start. Great job.

my only suggestion would be that holding B/A would go quickly through the alphabet.
