Wow, it’s crazy this exists. Is it worth 100 bucks to get my photos off my camera..hmmm
Didn’t someone already make a GB link to parallel port cable and software to simulate the GB printer? That seems like a much cheaper and easier way to do this (assuming you still have a PC with a parallel port kicking around). You could probably port the software to the Arduino, actually.
I couldn’t find that, but there’s some printer and camera info on this page: http://www.devrs.com/gb/software.php
Surprisingly, the Wikipedia article documents the printer protocol: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy_Printer#Game_Boy_Printer_Protocol
I’ve been watching the progress over on Facebook. These things are pretty neat!

I just so happen to have an old Windows 95 laptop =P
I’ll try to find what you’re talking about, because that sounds like a better option for me. If I could get my pictures off there cheaply I’d go for it, otherwise, a printed version will suffice =P
You might be in luck. It was made my Mad Catz and called the Camera Link. I never had on and it would be useless to me now… like a Dex Drive for the N64.

Oh cool, good find!
Checking on ebay, these things aren’t too common. The only one on ebay, and it’s not exactly cheap either..
Now, who’s going to take the sensors from two GB cameras and build a stereoscopic VB camera, with up-scaling, a dither pattern selector, some simple editing tools, and a built-in USB port for dumping photos? 😎
Ho-ly CRAP a VB Camera would be so cool. No glare from the sun, perfect shots every time! Just get some slightly higher resolution cameras and have them sorta 90 degree up out of the cartridge slot (which thinking of it would look amazing, like the VB grew a pair of eyes).
i would actually like to see a fm radio for the VB. seems like every gameboy had one
Well, That’s not stereoscopic, but I use my GameBoy Camera as a webcam, without any hack.
GBCam in a Super GameBoy
SGB in a SNES
SNES plugged to an USB video converter
USB converter plugged into a computer.
Et voilà !
The converter looks like this:
And the final result:
The quality goes from bad to the worst thing I ever seen in video, but it’s funny.
The same way, you can display your pics and a simple “print screen” push transfers your photos.
