Just wanted to leave a note as a thanks to Ben for the awesome VB+ box. I’m absolutely blown away by the quality itself, speed I received it, and the care that was taken in shipping it. A+ all around!

Hi

Is order request process still valid as explained in the first page?

Hello, dj898.

To be sure, do you already own a FlashBoy Plus cartridge with USB cable, and do you now want to order the related contents to go with it? If you do not already own a FlashBoy Plus cartridge and USB cable, and these are what you truly want to order, then Richard Hutchinson is the one who, I believe, is still making and selling the FlashBoy Plus cartridges with USB cables, as he advertises here:

http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=13655#forumpost13655

If you would like to order a FlashBoy Plus cartridge and USB cable from him, send him an e-mail, asking him if he is making them right now (sometimes he takes breaks from making them) and if the total cost for a FlashBoy Plus cart and USB cable is still 100 US Dollars plus one Virtual Boy game cartridge that is to be mailed to him for use as a donor cartridge. Chances are, his price has not changed, but it is always good to ask to be sure. His e-mail address appears at the above link.

The things relating to the FlashBoy Plus, which I still have available for sale, are a FlashBoy Plus box, a quick reference card, and a high quality cartridge label, as advertised here:

However, if you live in Mexico or Canada, then the amount to send to me is no longer $25.00 but is now $30.00. This is because the United States Postal service has increased the cost of shipping to those locations, since the time that the original post was made.

Also, it is important to understand that Richard has since changed the format of the outside of his FlashBoy Plus cartridges, so the cartridge labels that I have, which went on the old carts that he used to make, might not look as nice on his newer carts. Now, the only reason to get these things from me is to make your FlashBoy Plus more complete for collection purposes. If you are also interested in purchasing these things, let me know. Otherwise, Richard will be able to help you with the FlashBoy Plus cart and USB cable, which is all you actually need for playing Virtual Boy ROMs on a Virtual Boy or for testing out your own games, which you are developing, on the Virtual Boy.

Regards.

Have not handled one personally, but quality looks pretty good from what I can tell.

Thanks for the advice
I will need the fullset as I have neither of those, just a pair of VB I picked up while in Japan.

NOTE: For those who are contemplating making their FlashBoy+ Carts complete with a box, quick reference card, and high quality cart sticker, please note the following:

The cart stickers that I still have in stock were already printed off by Krisse a long time ago, and it was assumed that they would be placed on the standard Virtual Boy cart shells, which Richard used to use when he made his FlashBoy Plus Carts. Richard has recently been making his own cart shells with a “FlashBoy+” text that isn’t nicely covered by these cart stickers (see first attachment for an example of a recently-made FlashBoy+ Cart).

Also, the backs of the FlashBoy Plus boxes, which I still have in stock, contain pictures of the old versions of the FlashBoy Plus carts, which used the standard Virtual Boy cart shells (see second attachment). Thus, the most recent carts that Richard has been making don’t nicely match up with the boxes that I still have in stock.

Please keep all of this in mind if you are still deciding to purchase a FlashBoy Plus Box with the various inserts from me. Essentially, the cart stickers and boxes that I have are now outdated, and they won’t go perfectly well with your new FlashBoy+ Cart.

Hi Ben,

I’d love a Flashboy+ box! I don’t yet have a Flashboy and am waiting for my turn to come around, but I’d still like a box to put my eventual Flashboy in, even if the stickers, etc. won’t match up perfectly.

Is it possible to order the Flashboy Plus cart decal only? I live in the USA. I ordered one with the Flashboy dremmeled into the cart but I like the OEM gray cart look better and was wanting to replace it with a regular cart case and then put the decal on it. (I assume you can take the 3d printed cart apart and change the shell?)

I did this with mine years ago. You can transplant it. As I recall, you have to sand the OEM shell a little bit to get it to close flush due to the battery on the Flashboy+ board. I ordered a box and label and Ben was the guy who hooked me up back then.

Please note that I have just packaged up the last FlashBoy Plus box that I had available for sale, so I do not have any more. If you happen to send me a payment for a FlashBoy Plus box combo, I will therefore have to refund you your money.

Do you know if there will be more boxes made, or are they done for good?

I don’t think any more of this variety will be made, but you can check with VBMills, the other distributor on this thread, and see if he has any more left.

I just wanted to update you all, I’m all out of boxes now, I’m sure there is a digital copy out there you can use to print your own.
Thanks to everyone that purchased one from me.
