Chris is tied up with exams for the next 3 months. So, I will be both making and distributing them now.
If you want one, you need to send me a donor cart. This will guarantee you get a cart (a sort of pre-order).
I will be making these on a one-by-one basis, so be prepared to wait at least 2 weeks from the donor cart getting to me and your FlashBoy+ being dispatched.
The package will consist of the cart and USB cable (no box) the new price of $100 (+shipping) reflects this.
Anyway, if you are interested, please Email me at –

Thankyou
Just received my Flash Boy today, on the day of the Virtual Boy’s 20 anniversary no less haha. Huge thanks to Richard ;D

Richard might not check this site as often as he checks his e-mail, so if you want a quick response from him, I would suggest e-mailing him at the address that he gave in the first post of this thread.
Thanx so much for takin my order for the FlashBoy. Just gotta get all the roms now!
good thing there are only 22 ROMs total, and actually you don’t need them all. what you should get ready are all of the great homebrew projects, prototypes, translations, and hacks!

GL!
Why don´t you sell the flashboy on eBay?
It would be very helpful, at least for me.

I don’t think it’s allowed. Plus, I only make them in very small quantities when I have the time.
Do you want one ?
Received mine last night. Very fast turn around for shipping from the UK to US!
One major problem though. There was no cable included. I was under the impression that this worked with a standard USB type-A male to type B-mini cable. However, I have tried plugging about 4 different USB type-B mini male cable ends into my Flashboy+ cart and none will fit. These cable work fine with all my other USB mini-B devices (like my GoPro, PS3 controllers, Logitech Harmony remotes, etc)
I took a look around online and the connector on my Flashboy+ cartridge looks exactly like a USB Type-A Mini Female connector. Exactly like the picture here:

So the cable on the left in the picture below would seem to be the correct fit.. but this is strange to me as USB mini-A is extremely deprecated.

Was the cartridge tested before being shipped? What type of cable was used if so?
Thanks!
Oddly, most of those I have talked to have found that the shorter the cable the better the results. It does use a standard mini-to-normal USB cable. Your best bet would be to PM Richard directly, as none of us can speak for him.
Thanks for the reply. I figured everyone else was using a standard mini usb (mini type B) connection at the cart end.
Either way, I won’t bother Richard just yet as I ordered a cable with standard USB A male at one end and USB Mini A male at the other end. I’d like to confirm that this is actually a mini type A connector first. If it isn’t then it is just a poorly manufactured connector with a defect in the plastic piece in the center preventing me from plugging a cable in.
I can try to push a mini type B male cable into the Flashboy+ cart connector with a decent amount of force but it wont go in. The plastic insulator in the center is too large for the opening it would normally fit into on a mini USB type B male cable.
Here are pics so you can see what I am talking about. I put my Flashboy+ up against a GoPro so you can see how skinny the plastic blade in the center of the connector is supposed to be for mini type B.
The attached pic is of my FB+ and the end of the USB cable I flash it with. I’m almost positive my FB is the same.
