I F%CKING HATE A$$HOLES WHO NEVER EVEN PLAYED A VIRTUAL BOY IN THERE LIFE, AND SAY THAT IT SUCKS!!!!! THEY ARE ALL TRYING TO BE FUNNY BY RIPPING ON WHAT IS CLEARLY THE BEST CONSOLE EVER MADE!!!! All I can say is “Can I borrow your chainsaw?”
It’s always the popular view of the system and never the gamers who rate it, well anyway more for us I guess.
Perhaps it would be good to call them out on the fact that they’ve probably not played any games on any of those consoles.
In any case, the Virtual Boy definitely flopped in terms of sales (there’s no denying that). But I wonder if it really is the 2nd worst in that sense?
As sad as it is to see our beloved VB in this video, I do appreciate that they don’t knock on it as we have seen so many people do.
the problem is that video game writers like to consider the way the vb was marketed and then associate that against its lack of sales and limited run. it wasn’t the worst console by a long shot. in my opinion it was incorrectly marketed for something it wasn’t (a console, instead of a niche gaming toy), and pulled before developers really understood what they could do with the hardware.
One other problem is that capabilities of this system never really were pushed to the limit.
Red Alarm and Wario Land clearly showed off what was possible to create a third dimension in gaming. Unfortunately most Game Designers lacked the fantasy to play with it.
In my opinion the VB isn´t a platform for puzzlers and pinball spin-offs, those games are simply not “visual” enough to benefit from 3D in Gameplay.
I think people sensed that, apart from the clumsyness as a “handheld” console….
By their reasoning, I suppose the Neo Geo PC is one of the worst gaming handhelds of all time…

I love how for the most part the video gives NO legitimate excuses to why the product actually failed. I Highly doubt the guy even played any of these consoles…
I also love how they used Red Alarm as the example for a game from the virtual boy. That’s an example of what GOOD it had going for it if anything.
They probably havent because if they had, they would have said “Cool, little 3D system, to bad it sold poorly. As it could have been amazing!”
