I got an e-mail from Revival Studios (which I don’t know why since I’ve never gotten a game they made), and near the end is a rather interesting remark:
OTHER PLATFORMS:
================-
Last but not least there are 2 other projects. One of them is a first new release for a rare platform. The game was done in 2010 but i have good hopes that this year we can get the hardware/production side of things ready so it can get a physical release.
The other one is a Virtual Boy project i started last year, with a possible releasedate of christmas 2012 if i can get the carts produced.
I want that Virtual Boy game! And how come he didn’t post here about it?
The game has been mentioned on the forum once (just search the site for “Revival Studios”). A single preview render for the game called “EFX” was posted on their homepage. I don’t think I heard anything else about it. Should add it to the game database anyway, yeah.
Thanks for sharing the information you got mailed!

I have no clue what type of game EFX could be, but it doesn’t matter, ’cause it’s a Virtual Boy game. I’m on board for that!
It looks like even carts will be made for it, probably with boxes and/or manuals? Sign me up for that! π
Stuff like this definitely needs to be made more easily accessible, since a lot of people who would buy such things if they knew about them, won’t do so simply because they never hear of them.
Another classic system I like to get original games for is the Atari Lynx. The system was basically off the market even a couple of years before the Virtual Boy came into existence. I had no idea until very recently that a new game, with box and manual and all, was made for the Atari Lynx just 2 years ago, namely “Zaku” (http://www.zaku-lynx.com). It took a lot of searching and digging with regard to the Lynx in general for me to even find out about this game, and I’m sure a lot of other avid Lynx collectors have never even heard of it.
If EFX ends up being a game for the Virtual Boy as Zaku is for the Lynx, that would be really cool.

Zaku is a great lynx game π I can say that much π
Did you order a copy straight from their website? If so, when you ordered it, did it say on their website that they were out of stock but would send one to you as soon as one was available, and if so, how long did it take?
I’m hoping to order one shortly after my next pay comes rolling around.
Zaku on Lynx, looks like it would be a really fun game. I might order one of those myself after the new year rolls around.
EFX on VB. Something about that picture reminds me of Myst, does it anyone else? It would be really cool to see that game relesed, so we can all see what its like. Also just to see a new game for the VB library.
I think I stole this thread π I got it when it first game out..there were a few lynx sites that you could just order it from…I’ll take a look around to see if I can find it again. There are a lot of homebrew lynx games…tetris, lynxopoly, alpine games, crystal mines ect…
