But none of those I played come close to Virtual Boy Wario Land and Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land. The subsequent ones puts too much emphasis on treasure hunting and not enough on platforming for my taste…
The order:
Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land
Virtual Boy Wario Land
Wario Land 2
Wario Land 3
Wario Land 4
Wario Master of Disguise
Wario Land: Shake It (The Shake Dimension).
(+Wario World, but it’s in 3D)

I agree, but, why did you note SML3:WL before VB:WL? π
He’s got you there π
Also, though I’ve only played Master of Disguise and Wario Land: Shake It a few minutes each, I much prefer the latter to the former. I wouldn’t even put MoD on the list…
I agree… the VB one is my favorite, though the GB one is good as well. I did like Warioworld (Gamecube), though it was VERY short and pretty easy. I didn’t think Shake It was that good, but I thought Master of Disguise was lame.
Though I gotta say, I liked it much better when Wario was the bad guy… like Mario Land 2 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6NdUJ8vtA0 . Obey Wario, Destroy Mario! THAT was an awesome game.
“Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3” was, indeed, released before “Virtual Boy Wario Land.” “Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3” was released in North America on February 7, 1994, while “Virtual Boy Wario Land” was released in North America on November 27, 1995.
When Protoman85 wrote, “the order,” he meant the chronological order of the games’ releases and not his order of favorites.
