Made a new video since I’ve been receiving emails from people saying that their displays are still breaking after the solder fix. I imagine it must be a pain paying twice for an expensive repair like this, so I put both under the microscope this week to investigate further.
Please note, there are some advantages to the solder fix including lower cost and faster turnaround time. Also, the quality varies I’m sure depending on the person doing the repair work.
What I tried to do in this video is emphasize the issues of the 25+ year old stock ribbon cable, and possible future failures that can arise from it.
