I have spend an huge amount of my time on a work related project for the last months. The good new is: I finally see light at the end of the tunnel. Probably in July (maybe a little bit earlier) I will be done with most of it.
That’s why I am already thinking about making a new VB game. I think I can create a pretty cool game after what I learned with GameHero. I went through several ideas and I think I found something I would like to do. The basic idea is an Adventure-Game that is a mixture of Pokemon/Zelda and Teleroboxer. However, I will figure the details out as soon as I start.
This time I am going to aim high. This means it is going to be a real game. It will have a box as well as a manual. All of this will take a lot of time though (I still have a job and everything), so don’t expect me to be finished any time soon. I will publish a demo once in a while though. I am planning to program some tools to make the game development a little bit faster. If a tool turns out to be useful, I will publish it as well.
As soon as I am in the mood, I will start with some concept arts. For now there is just the working title “Lost in Time”. I also want to so some final fixes to GameHero. I guess nobody ever played through the whole game. However, I still feel like I should do this.
Wait, so the name of this game is now “Press Start”? All kidding aside, it’s good to have another VB homebrewer on board. I haven’t played it yet, but from what I’ve seen, Game Hero looks wonderful for a first effort. Am waiting to see how you mix Zelda with Teleroboxer. I’m not that fond of RPGs or fighting games, but it will be interesting to have an RPG game on the Virtual Boy, as there aren’t any. Will you be able to save a game in progress?
OK… I tried through some ways to move objects. I think I found a way that might work for me in the future. I have build a pretty basic system that needs to be heavily extended. The next thing will be rotations and tilting.
I looked into the AFFINE stuff some month ago and remember it to be annoying.
