I’m curious how some 3DS games would look like on the VB. So I’m going to post some Reels with 3D screenshots from MARIO KART 7 in this thread – first one features the MK7 splash/title screens:

MARIO KART 7 – REEL No. 1: MK Title Screens

SPOILER WARNING: also contains 5 alternative splash screens (images 3 – 7), that are beeing unlocked, when you get first place in all Cups and in all cc speeds.

Images were captured with the screenshot functionality of Miiverse (which was discontinued in November 2017).
I made the sreenshots for the images 1 & 2 and the splash animation myself. All other screenshots were taken and posted publicly by different Miiverse users.
Special thanks to KR155E, who provided me with a tool to sort all the many MPO screenshots I’ve downloaded, into 2D and 3D screenshots.

I didn’t want to scale the source images down from 400 x 240 to 384 x 224, so I spliced them into layers and rearranged them.

I also made a Custom Splash Animation for this Reel. It’s not running perfectly smooth, because I had to take separate screenshots for all 36 frames. Also, I had to scale down this one a little bit …

In the next Reel, I want to try some ingame graphics from MK7 …

Here comes the next Reel, featuring in-game graphics this time:

I’ve also updated the splash animation: it run’s smoother now and is in original resolution / scale.

But I had to crop some images in this reel, to reduce tiles count …

Awesome, man, the 3D is gorgeous! I love the spinning title screen animation!

It actually looks really good, I wish the Virtual Cup had been finished.

Yeah, me too! Would feel happy to make some 3d converted driver sprites, if DogP wants to revive this project …

Anyway, that custom splash animation is beyond incredible! WOW! The screenshots looks really really good as well! Best VUE-MASTER reel to date IMHO.

This looks awesome! I wish this was on the VB. Or that someone could finish the Mario Kart demo that exists for the VB in the homebrew section
