I’ve done one Virtual Boy game review so far, planning to do all of them. First things first, Mario’s Tennis.

Now… My experience with things like this is that when I show people who don’t know much about the stuff in question, they’re intrigued and appreciative but when I show it to the experts, they find all kinds of faults with it. But nonetheless, I’m going to give it a try. So if you hate my first few reviews, and subsequently me, I’ll go away 😛

I’m finally back with another Virtual Boy review! This time I compare the 2 Tetris games, which are rather different from each other. 3D Tetris and V-Tetris. Excuse the somewhat poorer quality video, my new camera is older than the other one, and my Virtual Boy has gotten that red-line glitch periodically on both eyes =/

Good news, I’ve borrowed a friends Virtual Boy, which was ironically my Virtual Boy before I sold it to him. It works fine, so I will record all the games I have left, then work on the remaining reviews. Order:

1. The worst, Virtual Fishing, Waterworld and Virtual Lab
2. The best, Wario Land
3. The Homebrew games
4. Summary and ranking of all VB games.

I think I’m one of the only people that like to play virtual lab 🙂

I am actually amazed by Waterworlds 3D graphics and well developed multiangular display for enemies.

Videos are on track and I can report that the Wario Land review will be around 6 minutes and the homebrew one will be around 15 minutes(!).

Can’t wait for the Homebrew one.

Ok so I’m on vacation right now and my girlfriend just left me so I’ve been distracted, but I plan to finish the homebrew video this weekend, for trulies. I got fed up with Adobe Premiere rendering previews for 10 minutes just to play AUDIO, so I said fuck it and I’m now going to edit it at work, in Avid. It’ll be interesting. Anyway I’m back home this friday so I’ll work on it this weekend.

Good to hear you are still up for it even with your current troubles, I hope things get better.
You edit with Avid for a living, that explains why the reviews look so nice, you know what you are doing with the visuals and sound. I do enjoy viewing them even though I never post comments on YouTube (pointless as its full of trolls) but please keep it up, they are the best reviews for VB out there.

I didn’t saw all of you reviews yet but I thought the ones I saw were well done. I like that you try to be honest about things you don’t like without being unfair.

I’ve seen several of your reviews, but didn’t realize it until I clicked on one of the links on this post. I agree that they are well produced and provide an impartial perspective. Sorry to hear about your bad luck, but I’m eager to see the new review. Keep up the good work!
