I’ve followed Jeremy Parish’s work for awhile, he just started a new series of videos focused on Virtual Boy today!
His NES Works series is what pulled me in, all of his videos are great.
Ever since I caught his VB stream a few weeks ago I’ve been dying for him to put his series out. I have it queued up in my watch later list.
Very cool stuff and helpful to know that YT destroys red/black images with their compression algorithm!
Nice to see the library getting some love for a change.
Awesome! I personally love the Game Boy Works videos. I’m shocked that he’s doing this, but I’ll definitely keep up with Virtual Boy Works.
Watched both episodes. Seems very fair so far. I commented not long ago about how AVGN can’t bear to say anything positive about VB games, which usually looked like “this game is pretty good! Except it’s on the terrible VIRTUAL BOY!!” (which is par for his channel/character.)
So I like that JP is up-front about trying to review the games for their own merits, separating them from the Virtual Boy except when the platform has an actual effect on the game. I expect he’ll review all 22 games, not stopping at just the NA releases. I look forward to seeing the rest. Maybe they’ll measure up to retronintendonerd’s reviews. 😀
Very nice! I am very curious to follow this video series as it unfolds!

You’re really too kind. Jeremy’s ability to have higher production quality guarantees his videos will Shit on mine lol. I’m totally ok with that though. I’m thrilled to see another person take on the library too (and much more capable than me).
As of this point from what I’ve seen so far, I find retronintendonerds videos more informative overall.
Though I still prefer Johan Öbergs video reviews the most!

I love his videos as well and are my favorites I’ve found covering the system and games. They’re really well done. I am very flattered that you enjoyed mine and found them more informative. That was kinda my goal with the series. A lot of folks jump into the VB games without reading up on them and then they’re often like WTF am I playing. I felt the more informative approach would help people getting into the games.
I’ve been following that Works series since it started off a good while back and was happy to see the VB pop up finally as that was unexpected.
I finally own one again after so long so it’s pretty amusing timing to me. It’s amusing as the first 2 titles he went with are 2 of the 3 I currently have, the other being Mario Clash.
The only thing that bugs me so far with this stuff he’s working on, it’s somewhat lacking on the back story about the games really compared to the pretty good sleuthing he has been forced to do with the Japanese/US Gameboy releases and the NES/Famicom too. Maybe there just isn’t that much out there to say since the thing died sadly pretty quickly.
