I came across this on Ebay and I had never seen it before, and it isn’t listed as an accessory on this website and I haven’t really been able to find too much about it, but I got this Performance brand AC Adapter, and I didn’t even know it existed! Was just curious if anyone knew anything about my find, and if not, I figured I’d let PVB know about it π
It came with the box and some inserts
The box is quite beat up, but at least it came with the box π

I’m so stupid! I don’t know how I missed it on the “Accessories” section of the website! Haha, oh well there are some more pictures anyway π
What STD did you get for free? (had to do it, I found it really funny that that paper says Free STD)

And according to the pamphlet, if I register my STD, I can be entered in their monthly giveaway to get more free STDs, and be the first to learn about them too
It’s like when I get an automated text from Visa or something, and they say “STD carrier charges apply”… O_o
Anyway haha…I like this adapter, I actually found one on ebay with a complete if not beat-up box too. Something about it feels less unwieldy compared to the Nintendo one. Sad that they had discounted it to $1 and then had to mark down to $.95.
I happen to have a Performance adapter as well. It came with the system when I got it for Christmas. From what I can gather, AC adapters for the VB are rather uncommon.
Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve EVER used the VB with batteries. Does it drain them as fast as the rumors say?
Oh, and hi everyone :P, decided to join the fun!

Hi cr1901, welcome to the forums π
Do you own that debugger? It looks like one of KR155E’s pics from this site, but from a different angle? π

Not in the least XD. I just chose a default forum avatar to give the impression that I’m going to attempt to program the Virtual Boy :P.
I’d love to own one one day, but I don’t think it’ll ever happen.

Actually I started using batteries cause I had a bunch of AA’s I needed to use up. It took WAY longer than I expected to run them dry. I didn’t time it, it was a lot of on and off playing over a few weeks. I’d say between 6-10 hours a solid game play. I’m gonna have to time it sometime, because I think it’s on the higher end of that guess..

Yeah, Ive been playing with batteries up until now and it actually has really good battery life, I dont really know where all the talk came from back in the day that it had bad battery life, I’ve found it to be roughly about what you said, 8-10 hours or so, and definitely way over the roughly 5 hours I can get off of my 3DS
I got my Performance adapter with my second VB back in the late 90’s or early single-digits. I got the console (sans visor), a stand with a broken clip, the aforementioned adapter, a controller, and a loose copy of Vertical Force, for… drum roll, please… $5 π
I’ve never used batteries in a VB, since, although I think I stopped after my first set died, instead using some kind of jury-rigged adapter.
I also have a very nice custom-made adapter-tap someone gave me. I won’t mention names so he won’t get swamped with requests (but he should totally make a few more and sell them, because they rock ;-))
I have one of these also. Mine came with an extra controller. However; when I tried to use it I quickly found out why it was so cheap. The previous owner had wrapped the cord around the ac plug part and snapped the wires in half. It was broken where the cord went into the adapter. I cut the wire protector off and soldered the connections back together. My ac adapter may not look the greatest, but if works flawlessly and is safe to use again.
