My current game setup upstairs (where it’s warmer in the winter). In the man cave I have some other stuff setup and more games but I don’t go down recently since its too cold haha. Upstairs I have a VB, Jaguar, 3DO, Dreamcast, 2 Japanese Saturns, and a Nuon player

Hey, that TV looks pretty darn familiar! I have almost the exact same one. My SNES, N64, PS2, and Laserdisc TV 🙂

This tv is legit! Tons of hookups and has a sub built in the sound is awesome! This guy posted it on Craiglist and lived 26 mileas away for $20 and he was willing to deliver! Even brought it in the house and set it up for me. An absolute deal! I kind of dislike the widescreen tho vs the normal square as most video games weren’t widecreen anyways. Also I found that since this is flat vs curved my light guns on the Dreamcast and Saturn both don’t work now 🙁

The reason those light guns don’t work doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that they are flat. The reason they do not work is because those TV’s have Frame Interpolation at work which gets the frame’s out of sync with the gun.

The sound they put out is incredible for just TV speakers, huh?? I can’t believe you got it for $20 and he delivered it. I had to pay $50 and pick it up like 15km away. He had the original box even, but I didn’t take it, it was way to big for me to store. He did throw in a CIB Sony D-EJ1000 discman though which I thought was pretty cool, looks barely used.
I don’t mind the fact mines widescreen, I mean it is kind of a waste of space when playing 4:3 games/movies, but I also have 16:9 games and movies, so it’s kind of 6 one half a dozen the other. Plus I’m usually too busy eye humping the amazing picture this thing makes out of even a composite cable.

As for the light guns, I heard they just don’t work with HD CRTs. They run at 100Hz rather than the traditional 60Hz. I still have an older TV as a backup for light gun games, but I really don’t play much light gun games.

Here is my gaming setup. The shelf is the KALLAX shelf from Ikea i pimped a bit.

Love it! I am so happy you posted this! So a 360 WILL fit into this shelves. I’m in a new house and my game room has no furniture yet. I was browsing IKEA and saw these and wondered if my consoles will fit inside of it. Your pictures have confirmed they will.

Do you remember the name of that glass cabinet/case too? I think I’ve seen them before on IKEA?

My room is a mess, due to a poor set up and too much stuff. Also that’s my cat Yoshi who decided to not get out of the picture.

The glass one is the DETOLF from IKEA. It has a perfect height for those Virtual Boys!

hahaha it is! you’re like a guitar detective!

Mine are a little spread out. I have a couple aimtrak guns and an Xarcade setup which I eventually want to build into an arcade gun mame cabinet but havn’t had the time yet.

Almost forgot the 360 behind the slidable painting next to the kegerator, jaigermeister machine, and projection screen in my basement =)

My gaming system I put together. Used an old macintosh 128k and it still uses the original keyboard and adb mouse. Couldn’t find one for DB9 mouse.

swaps out desktop mode and retropie through SD card where the floppy used to go.

also gutted the printer that holds most of my controllers that have usb adapters.
also have 3do controller, gamecube, Neo-geo arcade joystick and more

external floppy drive that has dual SD card reader and a 256gb flash drive

you cant see it but on the back behind the battery compartment is a lan port and a firewire 400 for charging

That is some setup! 😀

ApplePi very cool, I haven’t ever seen a RaspberryPi built into such a cool casing.

Thanks, the hardest part is finding a monitor that 4:3 ratio in this age. Especially 9”

I even have an external battery so I might just take it to starbucks and get some strange looks, lol
