Well if I find a vb adapter i think I also need a converter from usa 230V 50Hz to Sweden 110V 60Hz

The questions are
-Do I need some adapter with low voltage so it doesnt break or melt my vb?

-Japan and usa has same volt and all? Since the vb was released in both countries without converter

-Will any adapter work or is there specific ones? some for low powered things like the vb, nes.. and other for high powered things like pc, ps3…?

So did you buy a tap on ebay or not?
I have an extra JP tap if you’re interested.

and don’t worry, the above comments were about buying a universal adapter for a JP tap. You definitely need 100/110v if you don’t plan to buy a non-Nintendo adapter.

Akumie, this is total nonsense! If the adapter you use outputs 9v or 10v then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. It is not about the input of the adapter, only about the output. I have two adapter taps, JAP and USA and they both work fine with my 220v SNES adapters as well as a 220v universal adapter that outputs 9v.

It is all about electronics and 9v/10v output= 9v/10v output independent of the input of the adapter. Even if it would have an input of 10.000v then you wouldn’t have to worry about anything.

USA and JP taps have different sized input plugs. Not to mention that 220v SNES adapters are AC and not DC.

If I’m wrong, oh well. I was just trying to help to the best of my knowledge.

All I was saying is that he ABSOLUTELY needs a step down if he is going to use a Japanese or USA adapter, OR that he could get a Japanese tap and a universal 220v adapter.
Nothing about that is “total nonsense”.

also, Unless 220v SNES has two different adapter versions, I really don’t see how it would be compatible with both the JP and USA taps. Even if one did fit, I would just feel it was safe to assume that 9vAC and 10vDC are not safely interchangeable. That is why I said an official 220v adapter wouldn’t work, where-as a universal one with DC output would.

Hi everyone :]

I just ordered a US Virtual boy on ebay with a US adapter set (Adapter+tap), could i use one of these adapters with the Us tap ? (french snes adapter and french Nes adapter respectively).

Thanks you ! :]

Hi Craby

Sorry, none of those will work, for two reasons:

-They output 9V AC instead of 9V DC
-The plugs won’t fit anyway, because the US plug is different

Ok, so i need a 220V -> 110V stepdown converter or a Japanese tap + a french 9V DC adapter if i understand it all ?

I was glad the Vb comes with an adapter set but i won’t need it… 😐 I should have come here first and ask, my bad 😛

That’s correct. Those are the options.
