I have been interested in the Virtual Boy for about 5 years now, and I’ve recently started collecting the games for the system. My plan is to eventually own every game.
My question is though, since Virtual Boy never got to Denmark, if there is any japanese auction websites where I can find it cheaper than eBay? Or do all of you guys buy your VB gear on eBay only?
So, any tips when it comes to actually buying stuff at this site? I mean, of course it is important to make sure to translate the description as good as possible, but other than that is there any communication needed with the seller? And is PayPal an option or??

The best advice I can give you is to check each and every auction page. I guess its just common there but a lot of the time the first pic doesn’t always depict everything that is included. I usually will see the first pic just showing a system but the other pics will include games and other items that are included. Its kind of nice because some people will just skim through the results page and not bother checking each one because the “standard” is that the first pic usually depicts all items. Also when some auctions are translated, it will warn you that the word “junk” is used in the description and that it is low quality goods. Ive purchased several of these listings and everything ends up looking like new. Ive never had to communicate with any of the sellers so I’m sure you will be ok. Unless you can translate the pages and communicate with the seller about shipping to other countries, you will probably have to use a proxy service to buy the goods and reship the items to you. I personally use Buyee or FromJapan. Fees are pretty reasonable and FromJapan also lets you shop on other sites such as amazon.jp which only ships to japan. Both services allow paypal.
