I’m thinking of starting my own virtual boy on ebay. I have WAY too many copies of certain games, some sealed some not. I also have lots of doubles when it comes to stuff like Mario Tennis US box and similar things. I’ll keep everyone posted when I do. Perhaps I’ll give a vr32.de discount!

Well, keep us posted! I am very interested in good deals as always πŸ˜‰

Or you could use our marketplace and save ebay fees. πŸ˜‰

I have an ebay shop and i only recommend it if you have at least 30-40 articles to sell, and anyway ebay has increased fees so much in the last year that i just recommend as the “last option”. Maybe it would be more interesting to use the marketplace of the web

Perhaps better to set up your own webpage and have occasional auctions on eBay that links to the page.

@jojobean: Sounds nice πŸ™‚

Yeah JoJo,

Post your wares here, its difficult enough trying to get a personal response from some US sellers as they flat refuse shipping to Europe.

I’ve contacted some folks direct in the US and almost begged them to send me 4 boxed games together to save on shipping. Also stating that I’m happy to pay the shipping as long as they make the effort to get a good quote! Not just whacking $50 on top of the price I’m paying for the carts.

Let us know what you’ve got that you’d like to sell, I’d be interested …

In response to the shipping thing, I have sold things on eBay and Half from the US, and I’ve seen my share of “will you ship to” requests. I’ve done it a few times and almost every time the person on the receiving end refuses to pay the additional fees. Several times I ended up paying the difference out of my pocket. So now, I only ship overseas if the person communicates very well and explicitly says they are going to pay the extra cost. So in your case I would have said “yes,” but when I get these random requests from people with <5 feedback to ship to Australia or whatever, I get suspicious.

I usually ask a friend in the US to have things shipped by him, especially when the seller refuses to ship directly or wants to use some shipping service with ridiculous shipping costs. USPS First Class Mail International when possible and USPS Priority Mail International when not… Checking the actual weight of the package at the USPS also gives a correct prize. I sometimes have to ask for the weight and check it myself then send the actual link to the seller for some people to understand… So I guess these extremely tough conditions may deter Americans from shipping overseas…

I have noticed however that Virtual Boy stuff is even harder to get, a lot of it is shipping only within the US.

Shipping via a friend also makes it possible to collect a batch of things and ship it together. Perhaps that’s the kind of service jojobean should offer instead…

That’s understandable Vaughan and I wouldn’t hold it against you at all. As you have seen, I do make it clear that I’m willing to pay costs and I usually ask to buy 4 or more game items from these people!!

The most recent response I received (earlier today) after writing a good 600 word message to the fella was ‘Sorry, I am only shipping to US and Canada’ … I mean, come on, what’s that all about?! I knew he/she was only shipping to N.America from the auction page itself, that’s why I wrote the message!!

Anyway, I’m just winding myself up here. There is a list of games I’m after:

– Mario Clash
– Wario Land
– Red Alarm
– Nester’s Funky Bowling
– Teleroboxer

If anyone has original carts of these and wants to sell them, I would be interested in buying them and I’d rather the money went to one of you guys than paying over the odds to these eBay fools.

All the best πŸ™‚

That would work really well as I do not have any friends who reside in the US 😐

Don/t want to advertise a single agent, but pretty much you can have mail forwarded through various firms, like http://www.mailforwarding.biz/ (first google hit).

Check it out, I heard it works pretty well. They usually will also assemble small packages into larger ones and make one international delivery.

So get one, if you sell something, let them have a good deal, talk about a common interest, it’s not that hard. Then you just ask for a favour – none of my internet friends in the states have ever said no. You don’t have to ask the same guy every time of course – how much do you really buy?

I asked a friend of mine to get one of those $10 2-pack V.L. Baseball since techbabe won’t ship outside the US and is hard to reach by e-mail… Worked out nicely – not that he has received it yet though, it was just a couple of days ago.

I don’t mind shipping stuff out for people not in the US as long as it’s nothing illegal, you let me know before hand, and you pay the costs.

Wow, for real? I might hold you to it once πŸ˜‰

Thanks for the offer man.

For sure, that’s very nice of you to offer jzagal and if I do take you up on it I will contact you privately beforehand.
Thanks very much πŸ™‚

But aren’t you in Chile?

DogP

No, I’m from Chile (born and raised), but I’ve been living in the US for a few years now.

Why are your location set to Chile if you’re in the US?

For a few reasons…

The form in the profile page says “From” which I read as “Where are you from?” (rather than “Where are you currently located?”). I’m from Chile.

Also, and more importanly for me, it’s an identity issue. I would prefer that people, when they see my posts, identify me as Chilean rather than American. I only happen to live in the US at the moment, but my cultural identity is Chilean. πŸ™‚

I do quite a bit of selling on eBay and have personally never had problems shipping to other parts of the world and I always offer as low a price as possible to international buyers. Some sellers on eBay are just incompetent.
