WTF?
loc4lhost: I have some FlashBoys available from the current batch 8. I will send you an email with payment instructions. π
Can I get in on that email? I would love to purchase one!
Thanks in advance!
Heh, they sold out yesterday, didnt they?
I saw the link 2 days ago, saw that they were available, then went to check again today, and BAM! – Sold out. Damn. So, are there any left, or if not, how long until you consider making another batch?
Theyre about 90 euros, right? I’m Australian, so whats that? 5 or 6 cases of beer? π
Yes, they’re all gone now. I should update this thread as well then… π
Another batch is not planned currently, but since demand stangely is always highest when I have only few left/when it’s sold out, there probably will be one.
Heh, in the future I’ll post all prices in beer cans, that’s nice. π
How many was sold in this batch?
Perhaps you could take pre-orders for a possible future batch?
There were 25 units in this batch.
I took preorders for future batches in the past, but it’s too much work for me at this moment, so no pre orders this time.
I ‘m lucky , I bought one of the last batch !! . Flashboy cost me 180 beer cans ( or 20 Cosmopolitan cocktails for my girlfriend , she doesn’t understand why I spend all my money on Virtual B π ) oy
I’m selling my flashboy on the marketplace if anyone is interested drop me a line π shame that no more will be made these things are awesome!
Who said there would be no more made?
They’re just not making any new ones right now…
Another batch is planned for the the second half of the year. Stay tuned for announcements regarding this.
Four wanted carts here:

I’d love to get my hands on a Flashboy cartridge too. I can’t wait for that new batch to get done. Is it possible to preorder at this point, or is it too early yet?
No preorders yet. I will probably put up a preorder form when I know a less vague release date.
Thats really sad.
I already got my own flashboy – it’s a pretty cool stuff!
Only “mistake”: batterys are empty very fast. So I wait for my own adaptor tap – and everything becomes alrigt!

Playing VB with batteries is no good idea anyways. π
Are you sure the FlashBoy drains more power than a standard cart? I made no tests, but I always thought it was the other way round.

Yes, I’m sure MY flashboy uses much more power than other cards do. First sixpack of batterys was empty after only one hour and the batterys got pretty warm.
In 48 hours I used more batterys I bought in the whole month before.
Now I have to wait for the adaptor tap :rolleyes
But this is no problem to me. I’m so happy to own the flashboy.
Cool stuff!
If the processor (or whatever it is that handles the USB) doesn’t go into hibernation when no USB-cable is connected I imagine it will draw more power than a normal cartridge. Those masked roms also usually draw less power than a programmable rom. Using uv-eproms, the 27C160 kind drains batteries pretty quickly – that’s why I made my own adapter.
You can use a USB-charger that plugs in your wall outlet and power your V.B. with a long enough USB cable while playing (don’t connect from a computer it’s not capable of delivering enough current).
Only backdraw there is that you can’t use the on/off button (but who cares).

Thank you for the hint.
But is this a real safe, real good tested way to use the flashboy?
Did YOU ever use your flashboy this way?
(Don’t think I’m a wiener – but I really LOVE my virtual boy and I’m not interested in killing him…)
