Thought I share it with anyone that is interested in SNES games and I think I might end up backing it sooner or later since it still has 58 days to go which is great.

i wonder if they are using Alek Maul’s PVSnesLib? it reminded me of Joe and Mac meets Rick Dangerous. i’m instantly thinking it will be slow and repetitive. some of the early vids seem to have much faster gameplay than the kickstarter video. i wish they had a small demo.

i’m still more interested in playing Sydney Hunter & The Mayan’s Revenge for NES and Sydney Hunter & The Shrines of Peril for Intellivision. the slower pace seems more acceptable on those systems.

They specifically mention using custom-molded cart shells, rather than donors, which makes me wonder about two things:
1. Unless they’re buying the shells from someone who already has the tooling, $10,000 seems low for the shells.
2. How are they planning to get around the CIC lockout? Even if there’s still a source for counterfeit chips, wouldn’t said chips be illegal (under DMCA and various other laws)?

Those stretch-goals seem decidedly “back of a fag packet down the pub” to me.

$12,500 = New “Easy Mode” option. Sydney takes two hits instead of one to die.

I think I’ll sit this one out.

Well the coder on that project is Alek Maul himself.
So I guess he takes what he have 🙂

About the Lockout Chip, well this is not the first project of this kind. There seems a way. The Super Fighter Team is producing cards aswell.

The stretch goals, well tey are a neccessary evil of some kind.
