I’d like to bring to your interest a friend of mine, Florent Gorges who is writing books about the History of Nintendo.
It’s now available in English.

There is for now two of them, the first one is about the very first years of Nintendo until the Game and Watch. The second one is dedicated to the Game and Watch.
There is a third volume about the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) but not released in english yet.

The books are made like Nintendo seal of quality πŸ™‚
Realy good shape, nice pictures, good looking.
You ll for sure learn a lot about the best gaming company.

The reason for me to post here about that is that he is now working on Virtual Boy.
It ll take some time before the released, but it’s gonna be awesome.

If you didn’t know about it i really advice you to take a look at the first two volume.
You ll surely be amazed πŸ™‚

What are his sources of information?

He does a lot of research and had several interview with Nintendo Japan.
His sources are multiple.

Books? That looks like DVDs.

-Nintendo Japan
-Gunpei Yokoi’s family
-Virtual Boy Game developers from Nintendo and NEC

and others…

I like the fake Game Factory Game & Watch on the cover of the Second volume. πŸ™‚

I’ve got both books and think they are great. I’m looking forward to future volumes and the Gunpei Yokoi book.

These look very interesting, i may have to buy em.

For sure u’ll not be disappointed, i’m actually reading the third volume about the Nintendo NES and it’s still extremely complete and accurate.

Am I the only one who has read Game Over by David Sheff?
