In this thread we all want to post cool, spectacular, noteworthy, jaw-dropping […] Virtual Boy auctions on ebay, Yahoo or any other site…
At first here are two auctions on Yahoo Japan (Always cooool stuff on there!) for the japanese Nintendo Store Display:

KR155E
Extremely good price. If I had an extra few thousand kicking around I definitely would have been bidding on that.
Not putting down the VB but was it really that insanely low? The system thanks to a mix of media hounding and then the perpetuated lie since that it causes migraines and blindness it has a rep. People either figured you’ll get hurt, or it sucks, perhaps both so it’s either ignored, still mocked, or forgotten. That could easily affect the price vs it being a cooler hip machine to poach rarities from.
Based though on actual scarcity value given how badly the system sold and got the plug pulled a bit earlier than deserved I would agree it’s low.
It’s a good price because of everything that’s there. That’s a nice package deal someone got, especially because this stuff is hard to come by.
Beware! It’s a reproduction box. The seller is claiming that it’s a brand new game that’s never been opened. Looks like he sold at least one of these already.
How do you know it’s a fake box? Asking to avoid getting scammed myself…

Very easily! Just have a look at the flap on the very bottom of the box. It’s folded in the same manner as the North American releases. Just compare this very copy with any other copy online and you’ll see what I mean.

It would be a good practice to report these listings for counterfeit items (I just did :)), to help others from being duped out of $$.

Holy shit. I didn’t even realize till you made me go look that the Japanese boxes fold the same on top and bottom. O_O
Years of collecting VB games and never knew this…
Feel a bit like an idiot. 😀
Yeah everyone should report listings like this. I would, but it’s US shipping only, and being in Canada and eBay changing things so it flat out doesn’t seem to let me see items that don’t ship here. Everyone with a US ebay, though, please report this listing!
Repros like this are awful, it just pisses me right off that people are willing to put all sorts of effort into ripping other people off. I want to give that person a good smack upside the head.

Damn…somebody scored BIG TIME!
Some sort of scam, or at least something very fishy, occurred there. The seller of the $110.00 auction had zero feedback, and that seller used the same photos from this previous auction:
Yes, that reeks of scam. $110 is way to low for what’s being offered, but too high for “random person ended up with one and doesn’t know what it’s worth” but the feedback and pictures are a dead giveaway.

I’m also pretty sure that picture was stolen from the last Virtual Bowling that was on eBay too, which wasn’t all that long ago.
Heh…yeah, I didn’t pay attention to those details at the time I took that screenshot. I was just browsing the recently sold items and was like “damn!” when I saw it. But yes, looking at it now, this is no doubt total bullshit.
Now it’s Hyper Fighting.
Also, why is it that when I click on the sold Jack Bros. scam listings, I get this message instead of going to the listing: “Jack Bros Game For Nintendo Virtual Boy Complete W Box Manual CIB Tested
0 results. You may also like”? Does this mean the seller’s account was deleted? If that is the case, then is he creating multiple accounts?
Edit:
After seeing this listing, I’m assuming I’m correct?

The Hyper Fighting auction doesn’t even have the correct description:
“This is Virtual boy game VIRTUAL LAB It’s complete in box with manual!”
Update: After following the scam listings for Virtual Lab and Hyper Fighting, I can confirm that the seller has created multiple accounts in which he lists one virtual boy game for sale, and then deletes the account soon after the item sells.
