http://cgi.ebay.nl/virtual-bowling-boxed-virtual-boy-japan-/180568187794?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item2a0ab3e392Crikey thats a lot of bucks, it can’t really worth $1500?
I saw it and I was like 😮 but the realized it didn’t have the inner white cardboard tray and went 🙁
(I know, thats silly that I am like that over complete VB games, right? oh well, its not like I could get it anyways)
anyways… Space Pinball promo: http://cgi.ebay.com/nintendo-virtual-boy-SPACE-PINBALL-ARTWORK-SUPER-RARE-/130434593899?pt=de_entertainment_games&hash=item1e5e81f46b (also, this guy is selling other VB related stuff)
Posting ebay auctions is kinda’ lame, IMO. I guess it’s normal on these boards, but many other forums completely agree & don’t allow it for obvious reasons.
I think auctions should be discussed in Live chat, or only completed items if it’s for discussion’s sake. The small community here that cares have already seen the items. The filthy rich noob or reseller however may have not and it just jacks the prices for the dedicated FEW that actually collect VB stuff.
Do resellers check these forums? You can bet your sweet….*mule* they do.
If the real collectors wanted to share every fantastic auction, why no Yahoo Auction links all the time? Yeah.

Well, it may be a little tacky to post auctions, sure, but I personally don’t have the time to look through the pages of VB auctions every couple days, and it interests me to see what kind of items/auctions are out there.
And also, I don’t usually see auctions posted on this site anywhere except for this thread, so I guess if you don’t like it you don’t have to open it?

Well, the seller dropped the buy price… now it’s “just” $1400. :rolleyes

It’s not a matter of me not checking this thread, or you wanting to look at this thread.
Posting auctions is good for the seller’s bottom line, bad for the bidders that found the item, and of course is good for bidders that didn’t take the time to notice the item.
I’m not going to argue against discussing VB, that’s the point of this forum. But the majority of forums only allow discussion of completed auctions, “Buy it Now” auctions, or active listings if the seller themselves posts the link. I think those basic rules are a good way to please everyone without literally bumming some people out.
It’s the same argument with proto roms. unfair to the original owner due to the significant decrease in value of the physical cart itself because of less what I would call frantic demand.
Uploading unreleased roms of expensive games and posting active non-BIN auctions that are *under the radar* only pleases the lazy or less deserving.
Whether you agree or disagree, I was just voicing my opinion. I’m not a mod here, I don’t make the rules. I’m not upset at anyone, can’t blame anyone for posting live auctions if it’s not a forum rule. I’m just saying, if I was Kr155E, it would be.
anyway, just explaining myself for the above post.
Carry on, chip chip cheerio, nothing to see here folks. 😛
These clear acrylic protective “GBA” cases are the same size as VB cart boxes. I Have my entire collection stored in them. The seller sells them in lots of 10, 25, 50, 100 or 200.

I’m a real collector, and I had never thought of using the above mentioned clear cases to protect my collection. It just hadn’t occured to me, and without this auction thread I probably would still be looking for a good solution to a vexing problem.

Many thanks for posting this!! As someone who a) tends to have a messy apartment, and b) has a cat, these will be a life-saver.
Those look awesome! I’ve just placed an order for a few…thanks for sharing!

WOW..Ummm not meaning to be illegal.. :rolleyes but if you go a scanner and a picture of any VB’s game box pics then you could make boxs for any kind of game. Just a though if you dont want to buy the cases… 😉 and 😛
Speaking from a collector’s point of view… it’s not about having “a” box, it’s more about preserving the original boxes these games came in. The VB is certainly getting on in years, and original game boxes in good condition are a lot harder to find than they used to be.

Meh, the seller is dreaming. I offered him thousands, and he said he won’t take anything less than 5 figures.
Here’s a BIN OBO Virtual Gundam. Seller is asking $799 OBO, but it has a really crappy box.

A fairly good condition copy sold for $430 on September 27th:

Maybe you can point it out to him and get an honest deal. Sure would be difficult to pay anything near even $430 considering the ratty box.

WOW! Yeah hes dreaming!!!!! But that is a good piece of machinery…I think DogP made one with his virtual boy but it was in black and white on a PAL TV? If you made 3d glasses then MAYBE some person buy it for 10,000 or less… 😮
Actually, mine is NTSC (though it could probably do PAL if I had a PAL TV to develop it on). It is B/W on TV (because of NTSC color bandwidth, it looked like crap in color), though it’ll do VGA in color… and both NTSC and VGA will do shutter glasses.
I believe the actual Video Boy requires a PAL TV though.

Has anyone seen anything like this before ?

Yeah, those are rad. That auction has been up for awhile at that price. No to say that it’s common, but those do pop up on eBay from time to time.
a Virtual Boy keychain! also theres no mentions of this or pictures of this on Planet Virtual Boy!
I tried to bid on it but its gotten a bit too expensive for me
(it also comes with a case and SNES keychain)
