That is exactly what I told him when I tried to persuade him to put a “buy it now” price on the Flashboy and Jack Bros. Man that collection is fantastic. I mean Virtual Lab, Space Invaders is like a VB dream LOL

I’m really interested to see what the flash boy ends up selling for.

I don’t know, I think it was probably the right move putting the more rare items up for bid rather than buy it now. I personally think rare high-demand items sell for more via auction than buy it now. If you put a flat price on it and someone buys, you will always wonder if someone would have bought it for more.

I just noticed that jumpman’s auction for a brand new VB has the tag “3DS” in the title. Jumpman, that is really poor ebay form. It doesn’t add any value to the auction either, it just shows people you’re trying to desperately pad the price by getting more hits. You can even get in trouble if eBay finds out about it. Poor taste.

*edit* Just noticed you also put 3DS in the title of many of your game auctions. Wow.

Yeah, that Flashboy is actually mine. I’m selling off my whole VB collection, except for a few items that I will keep for my personal use. Anyone who is interested, can see my whole collection here: http://shop.ebay.com/thegamesnotoveryet/m.html
and bid if you like. It’s not the biggest or most complete collection, but I think it is very nice, and worth a look.

I (last night) put in some good high bids on all the rare VB related stuff that you have listed – I ain’t lettin’ this stuff go for cheap!

The only thing I’m not after right now is the Flashboy.

@colesonwilson
Thanks for any and all bids, it is greatly appreciated.

I’m selling this collection, as I never get a chance to take it out and enjoy it, and I have been off work for a few years taking care of my son, and can just use the extra money currently. I’m also hoping these games will be released at some point for the 3DS, and I can enjoy them without all the hassles associated with the VB.

In regards to the “3DS” in my heading, I don’t see the problem, I believe the 3DS is availible now because of the VB, I’m selling items for auction, and I see no problem in getting a few more eyes from someone who is interested in the 3DS. He might see this and think, WOW I like my 3DS what is this, another 3D device from Nintendo, what is this all about? Another possible VB fan. I have always put “like/similar” items in my headings, as someone who enjoys the same interest might like this item. No deeper reason than that.

I clearly and accuratly show what you are bidding on, and have never once had someone win something and thought it was something else. I am just about the most honest Ebayer out there. austinenterprises1 was my former Ebay acount and you can see my former history is as rock solid as my newer account. I show pictures of what you get, and answer any and all questions as soon as humanly possible. I have sold thousands of video games over the years, and besides helping myself, I also pride myself on helping others enjoy a hobbie that I so dearly love.

While I personally don’t really see the big deal with adding 3DS to the title, I have listed items like this in the past and they have gotten taken down. I sold a DLP projector and put DLP LCD in the title. Not trying to deceive anyone at all just wanted to attract buyers that may not be familiar with the technology.

That’s because it was against the ebay auction rules.

I am aware of that. I was just warning him that it was possible that his listings would be taken down.

All over the place with this collection on eBay. Won a few things.
Some of his stuff went for well over value, some went under. Congrats to both the buyers and the seller, seems everyone will leave happy as a whole. 🙂

Design Phase Floor Model! 😀 (I wish I had $12,000)

(as far as I remember, the seller is also a member of Planet Virtual Boy telling by his username, I was pretty sure I saw the same username before on here… I thought I’d still mention this item since he hasn’t posted a link on here yet)

LOL. 12k is in the insane realm, but good luck to the seller… Better include Dragon Hopper and Zero Racers. 😕

Maybe the extra zero was a mistake? Even if it was at $1200, still a little too steep.

For 12k I could buy a fresh Kidney from China! 😛

Then again, who knows what VB prices will be like in a post-3DS world?

Water World sealed in the box for $250. Its buy the guy who parts out VB units, no idea if its the real factory seal.

I think Waterworld is the one game I’ll never own unless I get it for ridiculously cheap, because it’s such a terrible game for an absurd amount of money.

intresting “Retrogames” thing featuring the history of Nintendo which has a Virtual Boy section 😎

its one of those rad Virtual Boy t-shirts 😎 (I wish there were more VB shirts, even if they were not official Nintendo shirts)

Yeah, that’s definitely a rad shirt. I’m watching the auction in hopes that the price stays low, I just can’t afford $150 every time a cool VB shirt, hat or desk-clock pops up anymore. 😕

I bid almost $700 on the Virtual Bowling that was just on eBay, and the darn thing went for near $1300. Even paying $900 last year was “top dollar” and I viewed that as way overpriced and an unwise investment.
But I digress, prices going up is also a fantastic thing since it shows rising public interest in this cool console.

Very nice item this t-shirt i will love to have it but he dont want to send to the netherlands dammit 🙂

blame me! (and the 3DS, of course) last year I told someone “what articles say about the Virtual Boy is biased and most people don’t even set the IPD dial and Focus bar right! it didn’t give me a headache!” (well, maybe thats not exactly what I typed but still!) and then said person said “maybe I’ll get one then” 😉

(another happening last year was that I asked someone else who said that the VB gave them headaches if they set the IPD dial and Focus bar and they said stuff along the lines of “why would I waste my time doing that?” 🙁 )

I’ve got that auction on LOCK. 🙂 I’ve put down a bid that should definitely win this one. (I’m currently the only bidder.)

I’m tired of getting sniped at the last minute, when I’m at work, so if someone outbids me this time they’ll certainly have to pay big for it. 😀 😀 😕
