In this thread we all want to post cool, spectacular, noteworthy, jaw-dropping […] Virtual Boy auctions on ebay, Yahoo or any other site…
At first here are two auctions on Yahoo Japan (Always cooool stuff on there!) for the japanese Nintendo Store Display:

I will pick up where you left off Dor-Si. I have a wonderful hole in my display that that white box would be perfect for.

*Edit*Gloves going back on. It’s looking like the Mrs. will kill me if I bid on this thing…
Heh… I’m sure that if I had a Mrs., I’d have a hard time trying to keep my entire VB collection. I’ve never met a woman who understands my appreciation for gaming.

You need to find the right one, my wife actually started my VB collection (not really a collection when compared to you guys) by buying me a really nice Japanese one in the box for my 40th, she is a gem and sorry all mine.

Already done. A new pic should be added soon
Whoa… red flag: The seller has posted a pic of the serial number on the Virtual Boy, and the serial number is V10086378.
I was thinking that if the number was a high serial number on a North American unit, that alone would cause suspicion as to whether the right system is in the right box, but now we have a high serial number on a JAPANESE system in a North American white demo box.
I think this is clear evidence that at some point in time, the wrong system got placed in the white demo box. Thus, I would say that if you plan to bid on this item, you are likely bidding on a genuine white demo box, but you are not getting a genuine demo system in the box.

Oh snap! Well, looks like another auction for a rare box with a standard retail item inside. I’d still think the box would bring a good price, though. Someone like me with just the innards and no outer box sure could benefit from a properly described box-only auction… Cough cough.

That’s what I was thinking too. I do have a US Demo unit (though I would’ve liked a lower number) without a box. What’s the value of the white box?
Well, knowing how rare the box is, I would be prepared to pay upwards of $300-400 maybe more? …but the way VB prices have been going, there are likely others that would pay much more.
If this had a true US demo with low serial, I have no doubt it would fetch a hefty sum around $1k or more.

EDIT:
Ok, here’s the scoop. I talked with the seller and notified that the VB didn’t match up with the box. Turns out he really does have the original and just didn’t realize the wrong one was in the box. The auction has been updated with new photos. Serial number shows VN100001012[1].
Re-Edit:
The seller should be relisting the US demo VB soon with corrected info to prevent confusion. Keep your eyes open…
Wow… it is so good that you did that. Now that’s the kind of serial number that I was expecting.

Oh dang, and my missus just started getting whif of the cost of my collection. This’ll be a hard one to buy. Guess I’ll have to trade away my Fortress Maximus complete for it.

It’s back up
who from here is all bidding on this systeem or plan to do it?
I wish I were able to bid, but I’d be forced to sleep on the couch for the rest of eternity…so I’m out. :u(
The only way I would be tempted to bid on another white box system is if the serial number ended in a number within the first 100, in which case I would then sell my current white box system if I won that auction. I don’t ever expect to find a white box system within the first 100, but one just never knows. 🙂
Thus, I’m out, too.
Flashboy has made an appearance.
Begin the rants….

Okay…
Geez! I can’t believe how much the seller is asking for a FlashBoy Plus, especially whenever anyone can order a brand new one straight from Richard for less than half that price! What is the seller trying to do, take advantage of people who are unaware of Planet Virtual Boy? But then again, what can be said of any bidders who actually make an offer for this without trying to perform a simple internet search to see if they can find a brand new one at a better price? There is no doubt that Planet Virtual Boy will be in the top search results, and it is here where they can see that they can get a brand new one from Richard at a much lower price. Perhaps the seller can be applauded if he manages to get lots of money off of those who refuse to take a little time to try to inform themselves by such means. And why don’t more people who shop for Virtual Boy things on Ebay ever take the time to check out Planet Virtual Boy? I mean really… you have the most amazing Virtual Boy site in the world that lets you know all that you need to know about such things if you just take a little time to check out the various links at the top of the pages. Perhaps those who do let themselves become informed of such things via this site can be regarded as being rewarded for their efforts by getting the FlashBoy Plus at Richard’s asking price…
Okay… That’s about all the ranting I can come up with at the moment. 😉
