In this thread we all want to post cool, spectacular, noteworthy, jaw-dropping […] Virtual Boy auctions on ebay, Yahoo or any other site…
At first here are two auctions on Yahoo Japan (Always cooool stuff on there!) for the japanese Nintendo Store Display:

Geez! I can’t believe how much the seller is asking for a FlashBoy Plus, especially whenever anyone can order a brand new one straight from Richard for less than half that price! What is the seller trying to do, take advantage of people who are unaware of Planet Virtual Boy?
I already contacted him and made him aware of what the item REALLY is worth. I also mentioned that I would tell people in the community about his silly pricing. My first bid was 50$ and my second 51$. That´s the highest I will bid, and I recommend to anybody doing the same, to make him aware that it is out reason. For the sake of this unique system, the common sense of this community, its members (that produce such carts, boxes, games, etc.) and general affordability for people wanting to enter this scene.
I am strongly against forcing up prices; prices already went up for some systems 400% in only 5 years…we´ve got to stop this now, otherwise it will affect everyone here someday too.
My 2 cents.

What is the seller trying to do, take advantage of people who are unaware of Planet Virtual Boy? But then again, what can be said of any bidders who actually make an offer for this without trying to perform a simple internet search to see if they can find a brand new one at a better price? There is no doubt that Planet Virtual Boy will be in the top search results, and it is here where they can see that they can get a brand new one from Richard at a much lower price. Perhaps the seller can be applauded if he manages to get lots of money off of those who refuse to take a little time to try to inform themselves by such means. And why don’t more people who shop for Virtual Boy things on Ebay ever take the time to check out Planet Virtual Boy? I mean really… you have the most amazing Virtual Boy site in the world that lets you know all that you need to know about such things if you just take a little time to check out the various links at the top of the pages. Perhaps those who do let themselves become informed of such things via this site can be regarded as being rewarded for their efforts by getting the FlashBoy Plus at Richard’s asking price…
Okay… That’s about all the ranting I can come up with at the moment. 😉
I actually had a rather hard time figuring out how to order an FlashBoy when I gained interest. It’s not like there is a flashing banner on the start page. It takes some research until you find the right thread and then you have to write an mail to Richard and ask for it which is an quite unusual way to buy something.
There was a Flashboy up on German ebay a couple of month ago. I marked it as illegal and ebay removed it within a day.
Is Richard even offering FlashBoys any more?
If not, then this might actually be compnsidered cheap….
For anyone interested in the collector side of things – All 14 US titles sealed (except Mario Tennis which is CIB) For a reasonable price.

I’m admittedly the person who bought one off of ebay. I thought the Flashboys were no longer being produced. My mistake on that. But I’m very happy with having one and have had a chance to try out a lot of the homebrew this community has developed. So yes, I overpaid.

And it was a plus not a regular one. Live and learn I guess. In any event it’s an excellent and extremely useful piece of hardware and I commend you on it.

I really hate it when that happens.
Anyway, I’m glad you like the cart.

Why do these dumb mother truckers continue to try to fleece eBay users?

The last Bound High seller on Ebay was French Canadian, and it looks like this seller is French Canadian as well… Perhaps there is a connection there?
*EDIT: Oh yeah… just checked the last one. It’s the exact same seller account. I figured he wouldn’t wait too long to try again.
Uncletusk sayed he asked to him politely to stop the selling and he sayed yes.
But if you remember well: the seller was showing the game with pictures that he didn’t take himself. The pictures he used for the selling were pictures of uncletusk website.
I think, when uncletusk talked to him, he didn’t have the game yet. He had order it but didn’t receive it yet. So I think he got scared and stop the selling. Maybe he thought that uncletusk will find who he was and wouldn’t send the cartridge to him.
The pictures on the selling where taken today. So I assume he just got the cartridge and confident, he’s trying to sell it again.

Guys, I just reported him on the Ebay site. I told that it was a repro and no official Nintendo release. Suggest anyone else also does this – the more the earlier Ebay will remove the item.
What if someone listed a Bound High! or Faceball cart, started it at .99 and explained what it was and how it came to be. Would you guys flag the auction as well? I’m just curious if the reason for everyone getting upset is just the asking price or the fact that someone listed it on eBay.
…and is back up, he’s clearly not phased. UncleTusk I’ll try and find his e-mail and name and adress, it may help you avoid him in future.

mods can find his e-mail address easily enough from there, if appropriate.
I found this game on a website, LEGALLY BOUGHT BY ME. (…)
Some ebayers seem to have problem with this aunction and i don’t understand but stop message me or try to cancel my aunction or i take legal procedure to solve this problem.
Sigh… I guess that’s just how it’s gonna be…
