Holy Cow!!! Just saw this on the bay and figured some of you over here would want to know about it. Original store display unit, the big one!Looks like it would be about an 11-hour drive, one way, for me to pick up that puppy. Not out of the realm of possibility.
Bejamin,i wish you good luck,i hope you get them
The Floor Store Display Unit fascinating me since my first VB days.
But shipping to europe would be never possible because the quite large dimensions and the weight.
The shipping costs would be extreme.
I would be glad if I only get the VirtualBoy sign on the top of the display unit.
It looks fantastic,i hope i find sometimes a loose sign.
I finally got ahold of this item:
My collection is now a little more complete 🙂

Glad you finally got it 🙂 I know you’ve been waiting for awhile.

Seems a little pricey, but then again I haven’t seen one of these list by itself in a long time…
wow 🙂
But what to do with 5 Virtual Boys? That box is for sure valuable for a collector, so you can never throw it away and it takes a lot of space. If I would buy that, my wife would kill me for sure. 🙂
wow 🙂
Group purchase anyone?

Your right,no one need 5 VB,but the box is great…never see that before.
Its sad, someone cutting with a cuttterknife thru 3 boxes.
wow 🙂
Holy crap that would be cool to have…I might have to start playing the lottery..
Ships to Canada?!?!
*bid*
Well it looks like I’m the highest bidder for now..
Curious though, since it’s missing the key, how much is that going to hamper things?
I’m pretty sure it won’t be hard to get this going, It’s pretty much just the one light and the power to the VB, right? Just curious what I could possibly be getting myself into.

Oh yeah… it looks like it should not cause you much problems to get it in nice working order. If you find out that you need a key, just take the thing to a locksmith. Other than that, it looks like it will just need a replacement bulb for the sign, and it’s likely that you’ll need solder-fixed displays for the head unit if you actually plan to use the system long-term. If you would end up winning the auction and would run into any difficulties with it that you can’t overcome, just post about your issues on here, and I’m sure someone who is in the know could help you resolve your issues no problem.
The key is no problem… it’s just a standard desk style barrel lock. You can easily pick it with a small screwdriver and paperclip, and then you could either replace it… or post a picture of the lock, and if it’s the same as any of ours, one of us could probably send you a copy (I’ve done that for a couple people).
The most annoying part is that you really do have to have a lock, since the VB is held in place by the braket being locked, and to swap games, you need to unlock it.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys 🙂 Sounds like no big deal then. I’ll definitely be enlisting Runnerpack to do my displays, even if they are working for good measure. We’ll see how this goes, though.
