Does anyone know if this is the very first time Hyper Fighting has sold on eBay?

Assuming it was a legit auction, yep, that would have been the first one to sell on eBay, and it will soon be followed by the second one ending in a few days.

I wonder if subsequent ones will come down in price, assuming they keep showing up for sale. Seems like it can go either way- bidders realize it’s not a once-in-a-lifetime chance and don’t go so crazy next time, or think they need to bid higher before the supply runs out for good. Maybe I answered my own question, there’s no way to tell :-p

Hyper Fighters just ended at US $1,125.00 in a 7 day auction on US eBay.

There were 5 bidders in the $1k+ range, and a large handful of bids in the $500ish range.

Guys, you HAVE to make more copies and put them into the world. I don’t agree or like copies selling on eBay for profit like this. OBVIOUSLY there is a demand for this title, so please satisfy that demand and at the same time make a lot of gamers happy and able to add a copy of this to their collections for an affordable price.

I personally want a copy, but no way would I pay anywhere near this for it. $100 I’d probably pay. $80 I’d pay for sure. I’m sure a lot of other people would pay this too. They would sell. So I’m not sure who is responsible for this release, but I know it’s somebody (or maybe a few individuals) on this forum. Whoever you are, please make more for everyone to enjoy.

Sounds great. Let me know if/when you can get them at 80. I’d love to pay that price, but it seems as thou people have stopped selling.

They sold for more then that when they were released so I’d be curious to see if you find them for $80-$100. There are many factors to this and it’s because of those factors that limits how many they can make and how they sell them. The largest one would be a law suit from Capcom.

Yeah, no way are these going to go back on sale for $80, sorry but I’d be surprised if they weren’t double that originally, a lot of work went into squeezing the game onto a VB PCB.

In terms of playing the game, there’s always the Flashboy demo, which gives a great playable impression of the game. And the rest is of course, SF2 as you’d expect it with some awesome enhancements.

I think with the attention this now has, Capcom would have to follow it up if a re-run ever went public, especially with SFV now in production they have to actively protect their IP.

Actually I like that listing. It may be for $2000, but his reasons make sense. If someone offered me $2000 for my copy I’d probably be in his exact position, not wanting to let it go but could really use the money, lol.

The only weird part is saying the rom doesn’t work on any existing emulators.. I would have left that part out since it’s not true.

How does everyone else feel about the listing?

To be honest with a little boy on the way I’m also downsizing some of my collection, and if somebody offered me that I’d really have to think about it. Not that I have it listed or anything, just saying.

Add into the mix that I am a serious Street Fighter collector, I have some sealed Japanese soundtrack collector boxes that are very, very rare, as well as arcade hardware, sales brochures and all sorts of other things. So I love my copy for both SF factor and of course VB factor.

Street Fighter 2 is my favourite game of all time, I play it often.
