Please pardon me if this is a repost, but this is pretty big. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Virtual-League-Baseball-Nintendo-Virtual-Boy-sample-test-development-prototype-/262898065088?hash=item3d35f21ec0:g:2u4AAOSw4GVYRv1t
I honestly feel that the seller has no clue about the Virtual Boy market / collector community. The seller probably thinks, “Hey, Virtual Bowling can sell for close to $1,500.00, and this is way more rare than that, so surely it can sell for over $2,000.00.” Nevertheless, I’d be extremely shocked if anybody out there would want to pay anything even close to that. I’ve tested the seller myself with what I thought were extremely generous offers for such a thing, and it seems the seller doesn’t want to sell it for much less than the asking price.
I totally agree it have more value then the normal game
But this asking price is crazy
Probbely it will sell some time in the future but not for this price
I think a value off 350 tot 600 dollar is right for a item like this ( depands in iff there are diffrents in the game so in what stadium the rom on it is )

Yep, I agree. $600.00 was actually my very generous offer, and I feel embarrassed to admit that I offered such a high amount.
There is definitely no difference between the ROM on the prototype cart and the ROM of the final game.
then when there is no difference thet your offer is verry generous from 600$
whit no diffrence i will say 400 to 500 dollar is the right price

Here is an interesting, recently ended auction for a Virtual Boy Double-Sided 3D Display Sign:
Certain sections of the sign appropriately pop out from the sign.

That exact stand/sign (that very one) is currently for sale on NintendoAge.com. The seller is asking $750 for it, which is one of the only prices that has ever made me laugh out loud to myself.
Also looks like that copy of Virtual Bowling fetched over $1,800, which is probably about around the price most of us figured it was worth.
I was the one who actually made the purchase. I’m pretty happy with the price I paid, considering that I’ve been searching for rare Virtual Boy items for about 10 years and this is the only one that I’ve ever seen available for purchase…
I looked at it like “now’s my chance” … I’m happy though! 🙂
The good thing is also that I can proof to my wife that there are other people much more crazy than me, buying stuff like that.
😉
There is a switch on the bottom of that stand, what does that do?

That switch just looks like it might be a pop-out rendition of the power switch found on the Virtual Boy controller, but it’s hard to tell in the photo if it is actually jutting out of the sign. Thus, I don’t think it’ll have any special function on the sign itself. It’d be pretty cool, though, if they made the switch jut out of the image of the Virtual Boy controller on the sign. I guess VUE Finder will let us know once he gets it.

Yeah definitely! I’ll keep you guys posted. Also, I think I know what this “sign” really is and why it’s shaped that way. But I’ll confirm my thoughts on it once I have it in hand.
I found this among the ended Yahoo! Japan Auctions:
https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g204783619
I’m not quite sure of what it is. It almost looks like a Panic Bomber mouse pad, but perhaps it is simply a card of sorts.

Nice find! Seems to be a telephone card (テレカ).

Yeah! That definitely appears to be right. Man… I never would have guessed that there’d be an original, Virtual Boy-related telephone card out there somewhere.

The power switch is just a 2-D image.

Virtual Bowling ending soon – HOWEVER it’s worth noting this has been shill-bidded to hell as per all Yamatoku’s high ticket items.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311850869006?ul_noapp=true
Check 2nd highest, that has 100% bid activity with this seller, and what a surprise bidded up from $8 to $500.

There is nothing shady going on with the second part of your post, that was me bidding $500. Pretty obvious that the game is going to go for well over $1000, might as well weed out the bidders hoping for a lucky $20 snag quickly.
I’m genuinely surprised that was a natural bid – Yamatoku are notorious for shill bidding, but that would explain why there aren’t tens of bid retractions on your account, like there usually is 🙂
But it does make me wonder, why not just snipe the item in the end, if you wanted to snag it? If no-one else had bid over $500 you could have gotten it for less, assuming Yamatoku didn’t shill bid.

They would have, by the time I made that $500 bid there were already ELEVEN bidders on the item, and the price was at something like $8.50 USD. Basically all 50 cent bidders, but as long as the price stays low you’ll attract a ton of “dreamers” to the auction. To me these are just more eyes on the auction, which in the end equals more bidding competition and a higher final price. My $500 bid probably puts up a “nothing to see here” banner on the auction for many, so the bargain seekers just keep moving when they see that.
Hopefully, that makes for a small pool of bidders near the end to compete with, and you can get the item for relatively cheap in the end ($500 or even $1,000 would still be super cheap for a complete copy of Virtual Bowling).
