In this thread we all want to post cool, spectacular, noteworthy, jaw-dropping […] Virtual Boy auctions on ebay, Yahoo or any other site…
At first here are two auctions on Yahoo Japan (Always cooool stuff on there!) for the japanese Nintendo Store Display:
➡<http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/c39350994>
KR155E
$225??? Well, time to see just how – let’s use the word “dedicated” – people on this board really are. 😉
Development cart for Virtual Baseball… Seller states it these were sent out to press before the game was actually released… They aren’t sure if it’s the final version or an earlier version.. untested…. They want $2500 for it?!?! Yikes… (or best offer)
**sigh…** why couldn’t it be Dragon Hopper?

This has been up for sale for that price for a while. I think it’s basically confirmed as final.

Ah ok, I had been scouring eBay for weeks now and just saw it as a new listing. Must have just been relisted.
It may have not been listed for a while too, I am talking like half a year or longer ago. Pics look the same, so I’m sure it’s the same guy, and the price is the exact same as it was before.

Yes, this is the same seller, a member of NintendoAge that I’ve spoken with privately about the game. He knows absolutely nothing about Virtual Boy protos or collecting and admits as much. His reasoning for this high price was “I don’t know much about the VIrtual Boy, but I know it’s obscure so I priced this proto around the same as one would price a TurboGrafx16 proto”, or something to that effect. So he doesn’t know what he has, and doesn’t know what it is (or isn’t) worth.

Yeah, he’s never going to sell it with that logic.

That’s funny I spoke to him too, but on a different forum. I got the exact same answer.
I guess this one deserves to be noteworthy, although really expensive.

Oh wow that’s very cool, I’ve never seen the 6′ VB kiosk with Japanese-language panels before, I thought Japan only had the modest countertop displays. Eek, that price is through the roof though. I imagine shipping to anywhere other than Japan would be a serious issue as well. Either way, extremely cool item!
I would do anything to get any TYPE of Virtual Boy Kiosk Machine. Though that is pretty expensive. To bad I won’t able to afford one like that 🙁

haha. Act now and we’ll throw in this used copy of mario tennis!
Hi,
Very rare virtual boy display stand.
Sad,the stand looks not complete.
Hmm, I don’t see any of the brackets that actually hold the VB in place. Also no cartridge lock it looks like. Just keep that in mind when looking it’s missing those.
Also (slight tangent) have anyone else noticed an unusually large number of people selling VBs on eBay as “launch edition”?
Well, you never know, someone could mistake it for a prototype console. Maybe they just want to be sure that people know that yes, this was in fact the model that did launch.
:p
