…My new goal is to be of the PVB staff! πŸ˜€
I mentioned this in “Topic ideas that were to silly to post separately” but that was just a silly random question then, now I have actually considered it as a goal!

what does one need to become one of the staff?

I know I love the VB so much its my favorite console and I’m going to try to collect all 33 games (as I have mentioned before) ’cause the VB is so awesome… and its not just to collect them all either, I will play them all too, even WaterWorld πŸ˜‰

I predict me saying this might get me laughed at or have things said to me like “you? seriously?” but it doesn’t hurt to ask right?

Anyways this site really is amazing *is nervous of asking such a thing like this* πŸ˜‰

Maybe you should make a request like this in a PM to KR155E instead of asking in public?

*still nervous* alright… πŸ˜‰

You? Seriously?

Are you sure you weren’t asking if you should be Moderated? πŸ˜›

Being a mod is a job and donation of your time. I think you should spend more time playing VB than worrying about modding a community you don’t quite understand yet. I’m glad you finally played your VB, and I look forward to your input about the new games you bought, but this site is so slow and quiet that I doubt another staff member will ever be needed.

I know, I know! πŸ˜€
but its because I love the VB so much is why I’d consider such a thing!

its also kinda silly how you say “Being a mod is a job and donation of your time.” then “this site is so slow and quiet that I doubt another staff member will ever be needed.” πŸ˜›

don’t worry! I wouldn’t give up Virtual Boy-ing!

Donating time daily has little to do with site traffic, but traffic has much to do with how many staff members are needed in the first place. Play the games, learn more about the VB, and if you wish to help VB donate to the site to help KR155E keep things going. Maybe try for a high score?

I’m fairly new to these forums. But I’ve also played every VB game released, been playing VB for about 15 years, I have a decent collection, and have no personal quarrels with any fellow VB members. All that said, I have no business requesting to be a staff member. Becoming staff of any site requires trust, and familiarity. Let alone this is quite the dev community here, and I’m not at that level yet at all.

I’d say that if for some crazy reason you dream to be PVB Staff, you need to consider what you could do for PVB that would make you an asset.

So enjoy PVB and become a known part of the community before you try to become a part of the system. πŸ˜‰

I wish I could donate, but I probably couldn’t get permission on that since either the site would be considered a scam or “just not something we can put money into” (not that I think you guys are scam artists or anything)

so, thats another reason I really hope someday I could be of the PVB staff πŸ˜›

a little off topic: you played every VB game released? which one is your favorite? πŸ˜€

15 years ago, Red Alarm, hands down. These days, I play Vertical Force and Virtual Fishing the most often.

I understand it’s out of most peoples price range, but Virtual Bowling is pretty cool too.

Sometimes it’s nice to just relax and blow off a lot of time on Galactic Pinball for almost everyone.

My taste in games is purely my own, and by no means can I tell someone that they *need* to play Virtual Fishing. There’s really not much to that game. It’s just so relaxing…
Golf also gives me that same calm red & black daydream feel as V-Fishing.

Most people, especially non VB fans, like Wario the best. It’s a solid platformer, and the best all around game on VB by generic non stereoscopic standards. It just wouldn’t have needed the VB to succeed.

Instead of going for staff on a VB site with so little VB news around, and instead of donating cash. You could add some so called “creative content”.

There is a coding competition going on, learn coding and make some VB homebrew, and although you just started coding, maybe you’ll claim the 10th prize. At least some glory!
Also you could look where content is missing on planetvb. Like games that still not have screenshots or a description. If you could provide some screenshots I’m sure it would be appreciated.

Instead of just donating, you could support planetvb by pre-ordering a flashboy. Selling those will keep the site up to.

If you learn to code now, by the time the deadline passes. You’ve already started coding.

got a reply from KR155E…
he says theres no way unless if I become a “established, respected, and knowing member of the community” who hasn’t just started playing with my VB, in which he might consider it in about… 10 years πŸ˜›

I bet I’ll still be a enthusiast who’s crazy about the VB in 10 years… hey, I’ll probably be even more of an enthusiast by then

*movie like tone* my VB enthusiasm has just begun! πŸ˜€
