Hi Everyone,

I converted a Virtual Boy into an arcade cabinet inspired after Atari’s Battlezone.

Thanks I appreciate that! Did you see the custom serial # plate I made for it?

WOW, this is beyond AWESOME!

You do Gunpei Yokoi a great honor with this unit. He may be gone, but his creative spirit lives on in in guys like you, who can see a need, and completly create something from nothing. A truely wonderful work of art.

If you ever decide to sell this unit, or would like to make anymore, I would be truly honored to add this to my game room. Excellent work!

Chris

Unfreakinbelievable!

That is so awesome! You got the color just right, the size, the font, the dedication, it is just perfect! You should send a picture to Nintendo or Nintendo Power Magazine, maybe this would help them acknowledge the fact people still play this system, maybe they’ll show virtual boy some 3DS virtual console love! Congrats to you and great job. I’m just in shock! It’s beautiful! I want one or want to play one! Will you be making more or is this one of a kind? Either way, I bow down before your greatness! You rock!

Thanks! I would send it to Nintendo Power Magazine, but there is no place on their web site.

http://www.nintendopower.com

The magazine has a section for people like you that make Nintendo things, art, case mods, cosplay suits. Send it via e-mail to community@nintendopower.com or via snail mail to Nintendo Power/Community c/o Future US,4000 Shoreline Court, STE 400, South San Francisco, CA 94080. I have every issue from #1 to the current #268 and people haven’t even come close to making what you made! I know they’ll put it in the magazine! Let us know if & when you send it in.

I agree that Tighe should send a picture in to Nintendo Power! (I always like seeing a Virtual Boy mention in new issues of Nintendo Power too)

I also agree with jumpman on how they said Tighe did Gunpei Yokoi a great honor! I bet if he were still alive, he’d be overjoyed that not only do people still care about the Virtual Boy, but also create cool things like this!

I myself, also really like how your project turned out!

This cab further solidifies the coolness of the Stand Up Phase-Design display. I’m excited about this cab project, and hope that Nintendo Power Mag will consider it even though it has (awesome) 3rd party decals adhered.

When I see this cab one thing pops in mind:
“I want it” 🙂

Very good arcade cabinet !

Congratulations !

if i win the lotto you got a commission, first class all the way, like that cab. 😀

WOW Guys! I really appreciate it! Someone on the BYOAC forums noticed I put “Gunpey” instead of “Gunpei” I don’t know why I did that, I know it is Gunpei. Well it is fixed now:
