I didn’t watch the episode but I heard that just recently, History Channel’s show “Pawn Stars” featured a Virtual Boy in it… did anyone here watch this? (I hear some guy on the show complained about it but it still is interesting the VB makes small appearances on TV that aren’t related to the 3DS)
(please excuse my double-posting, I couldn’t edit my last post and I wanted to say stuff about the video)
…why did the guy sell it because “it was either I lose the girl or the system”? thats stupid! >:(
secondly, the old man complains that the VB gave him a headache at the end, but thats because none of them understand that the VB is malfunctioning and on top of that they didn’t set the focus bar or IPD dial even ONCE!
oh well, at least the Virtual Boy appeared π
(I’m still frustrated over that hater of a girlfriend he has! why should one have a significant other who makes them sell their game stuff?!)

Virtual Boys > Real Girls
They should have made a Virtual Girl, similar to how they released a Talk-girl version of the Talk-boy.
(Way before your time, GYF)
Why oh why did we want a Talk-boy?

oh but there IS a Virtual Girl π
(Nintendo just didn’t know it!)

Haha, I still haven’t had the need to see or buy that movie.
I still think a pink or purple “Virtual Girl” console would have been rad.

Just uploaded the part on youtube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AloslXkX1rcThe best moment by far is when Taylor (the boy who is selling the VB) says who wants to play hours on the machine, Chumlee is like “I do” haha and then awkward silence
Could not find the edit button so anyways not to be rude but the person who uploaded it on megauploads did not add the last part when the old man is playing the vb so after I found the video with the extra ending I decided to upload the whole thing to youtube
Enjoy π
Oops, my bad, thanks for noticing it, I didn’t watch it any further as it seemed as they closed the VB part there and then.
Good work, akumie! I’ll use your version on the site, OK?
@VirtualJockey: Ugh! Was the last picture really necessary? I bet you gave me nightmares for the next 2 months. π
No problem, I might complain alot and cant make games but atleast no one can say I didnt contribute to this site XD

you are better than me!
all I do on this site is make cheesy silly comments and post terrible drawings that take up PVB’s bandwidth π
maybe one day someone should start a noob thread for us who want to make vb games but instead of some text based demos we go extra slow and learn 1 thing/day
I mean really easy things so even a 5 year old could understand how to make a game for the vb even if he could never master source code

Step 1, learn one new thing a day about source code until you know C language programming. π
Sorry, Game Homebrew is for programmers, not something that a someone like yourself or I can tackle without some studying.

I agree with you. If that guys girlfriend was going to break up with him for not selling something, the odds are they are going to break anyway. Where is he after that?Without a girlfriend or a VB.

I’d never sell my VB for anyone, myself π

No one should have to sell something they don’t want to get rid of. Unless they really needed the money for something important, not beacause a control freak girlfriend wanted them to.

exactly, and what really bothers me is she doesn’t even have to play the Virtual Boy, so why should it bother her so much?
was she jealous of a game console? I doubt the guy even spent much time with his Virtual Boy (it only had Mario’s Tennis and it had screen problems too) π

Yeah like you said she dosen’t even have to play it. I know the guy didn’t play the VB much beacause the stand looked like it was in perfect shape, and if he had played the system often the horrible way he put the system on it would have broke it.

unless if he kept it always on its stand, but still… he probably is clumsy and rough handles it when he plays it too
EDIT: *notices I became a “VUE(xpert)”* π

I bet the person might have had it set up when it was new, but after the system failed the person probobly put it into his closet, until it was gotten out by his control freak girlfriend who made him get rid of it. I think the rough way he probobly played the system would have greatly damaged the system if it was played over the years, and he probobly would have gotten more games if the system was played over the years.

it is having screen problems though! maybe he took it out to relive memories (and handled/played it roughly) and then his girlfriend didn’t like that he spent time with his Virtual Boy instead of giving her all the attention?
however screen problems even happen to those who are very gentle with their Virtual Boys…

Yeah thats probobly what happened she saw him playing Marios Tennis and thought >:-D and said something like “Either it goes or im outta here.” I really wouldent be suprised if it happened like that.
Like you said, the glitchy display can happen even when your gentle with the system, but in that guys case I think he was just rough and thats what caused it.

maybe it wasn’t glitching until he brought it over to the pawn shop… (ok, I’m going somewhat off-topic aren’t I?)
