Hey lovely people, I was wondering…
You surely have heard of the apparatus that plays VB games in a common TV screen.
Problem is… it’s… not really what I’d call affordable.
Is there any possibility to do a “homebrew” version of that? Or any way to output VB video to a different screen?

Best way I know of is basically emulation via a PC hookup, or grab a Wii and use the emulator for VB that way (it looks great by the way).

Alas, there is no TV out signal on the VB etc.

A homebrew Virtual Boy TV adapter exists. You can find several posts and topic about in the forum. Here’s one from 2010: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=12677#forumpost12677

Ah yes, I had known of that.
There’s a comment of mine down there asking if he was considering to sell it, and if so, for how much…
Got no reply so I’m assuming the answer is “no”.

Has anyone ever attempted to use the boards the VB has and put them in a DVD player-like case, with ports and all?

Or any of you really really really hardcore collectors own a TVBoy?

I know of Wiirtual Boy. I haven’t gotten around to softmodding my Wii to use it, though.
On a pointless note… my Wii is red hahaha.

Ah… if you posted a comment on my Youtube video, I never read those. But yes, some day I’d REALLY like to actually make the TV output, but real life always seems to get in the way.

Making the measurements, designing the physical stuff to make it fit inside the VB and have a connector come out of the case, and all the stuff that goes along with it just takes a lot of time… not to mention drawing up the schematics and actually laying out the PCB once I get the physical stuff done.

Cool! Maybe someone could make a version that doesn’t require performing a vb surgery. How you ask? With the link cable port. Not sure if possible but I know that in order to do it that way you would need a special homebrew game.

My Wii is also red. That’s probably why I can’t get it softmodded. Everything I tried failed. I think the red one has a version of the OS that is unmoddable… which is a damn shame =(
