My VidPro card collection has grown a bit since the last time I spoke of them. About a year ago, or so, I made a thread called “Interesting Galactic Pinball VidPro Insert Card”, where I talked about how different this card was when compared to the other VB VidPro cards we were familiar with. Here, I would like to start-off with this one, as it just may be a very early representation (pre-production) of what all the VB VidPro cards looked like at one point in time.

I think we have to made an petition to intelligent systems and write a hand wirte personal letter from all active PlanetVB users and all VB lovers we can reach on the world and ask for it if they still have the only VB Cartrige from dragon hopper.. and if so, if they whabt to sell it to the Planet VB forum.
Then we all pay together for the game, and the forum admin that also pay for the sever of this forum and keept it allive over the years become the game..
Then we can dump it for all other users..
And also we all can se the holy grale of the virtual boy 🙂

What? Spam bot?
The Dragon Hopper card and some other Planet Virtual Boy materials made it on an episode of “Led By Pixels” by ItsaDogandGame.
Dragon Hoppers artwork is actually pretty different than the mock-up box showed.

Is this the mock-up box you’re referring to? If so, what are some of the differences you’re noticing?

I was actually referring to the one sold by UncleTusk. I mean it was a good attempt but the faces look sort of silly now by comparison.

I really do hope a VidPro Card exists for Bound High! As i’m a really big fan of the game 🙂
Speaking of a Bound High! VidPro Card, look who i found on Twitter 😉

Well it was a recreation of a tiny blurry picture, because that’s all we had to go by at the time. I think they did an admirable job for what they had to work with

Yeah, that mock-up box has a neat story to it. As speedyink said, it was fan made at a time when all the makers had to go by was that super blurry low-resolution scan of the DH card found on half.com. my opinion is that Morintari did an excellent job recreating the image, and people will still keep it in their collections even if an updated version ever gets a release.
Plus, I kinda like how Dorin looks mad zooted from “puffin’ dat fire”! 😝
Here’s an update on my VB VidPro card collection!
I now have another Galactic Pinball card, which at first glance appears to be in its final form, but upon close inspection, it’s using the same screenshot of the game seen on the prototype card and is missing the model number above the barcode.
Next up we have a VidPro card for Vertical Force. It appears to be in final form with a model number above the barcode, but it’s using a screenshot of the game that differs from what’s on the back of a North American retail box.
Next we have a POV picture of some guy taking a whiz, oops I mean…Golf, a card for Golf is next 😄. Nothing special here, it’s only missing the model number above the barcode.
Lastly, we have a card for Teleroboxer. This one is pretty interesting because it’s missing the model number above the barcode and is using a screenshot that comes from the Teleroboxer prototype.
That’s all for now, folks. Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
