Firstly, sorry if this is the wrong section. Please move it if it is.
I was on reddit.com yesterday and I came across this person’s custom DMGs done up to look like Virtual Boys. I thought you all might enjoy this as much as I did. He’s selling ones like this.
Thank you so much for the good feedback and for sharing my builds with others! These two were especially fun to build and a theme I’ve been planning for a while now, since I love the VB! I’ll definitely be making more of these to sell as these two have already sold ($75 each shipped)!
Chris (Kemakill)
Edit: If anyone would like to check out my builds, they can be found on my subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/kemakill
That’s pretty darn cool. I might have to bust out some paint some time and grab a spare DMG

That’s a really fair price on those consoles! I’m used to hearing hundreds for these things and not as well done either. Do you sell these on a site or by commission?

That seems to be the general consensus so far. I’ve actually had a couple people give me more money than I asked for, because they thought the price was so low. I based my pricing on eBay sales, which now I’m kind of second-guessing. Although, I’m not sure how happy people would be if I started adjusting the prices now. I only make $25-$35 on every build and they can take 2+ hours to complete.

I’ve only been selling them through my Subreddit http://www.Reddit.com/r/Kemakill and through Craigslist. I’ve been considering requests for custom builds, but there would likely be a wait time.
They do look very cool. Good job.
I understood it still has the original display and you added a red backlight so that the image looks red/greenish?

Thank you! The mod process has you remove the green backdrop from the original display, leaving just the clear glass display. Then you fit the new LED panel behind the glass where the backdrop was, solder the +/- wires and a capacitor and put it all back together! The picture is considerably better in person than in the pictures and has a deep dark red picture that is very clear. The whole process can take 2-3 hours and requires a lot of patience.
