Just found this pretty detailed 3d model of :vb: on Sketchfab: https://skfb.ly/MzvB
Not downloadable, unfortunately. It was staff picked and featured in an april fools day blog article by Sketchfab staff in 2016: “Our Next Step in VR Gaming: Sketchfab Announces Virtual Boy Support“.
The description says it was “modeled and textured by Murilo Kleine https://sketchfab.com/murilo.kleine
Didn’t find this on PVB yet, so I posted it …

Ooooh~ This is nice. 😀

Wow, this is amazing! Really, really well made. That detail, beautiful! Looks 100% accurate to me.

Combined with Hedgetrimmer’s models of the stand and controller we now got an almost complete Virtual Virtual Boy. 😀 Only the battery pak is missing from the lot.

Too bad there’s no download link, but I managed to intercept the models (.bin files) and HD textures, find them attached. I am no expert in that field, though, so I am not sure if these files equal the model I can view in the browser or if anything is missing.

Wow … THAT’s cool!
I hope someone around here can tell how to extract binary 3d files? I googled a bit and found this tool: Hex 2 obj, wich seems to do the job, but some experience is needed. I’ll have a look at their tutorial later …

Well, I don’t think that I’m deep enough into hex code for this, but there surely are some skilled hex locksmiths around here to open this treasure chest up for us?
The sketchfab description states, that there are
– 157.3k faces
– 165.7k vertices
inside (I guess this informaton could be helpful to solve this puzzle) …
