[size=x-small](goodness me I hope I’m posting in the right place for this)

Hi!
I’m rather new to the world of Virtual Boy development and such, but I’ve been eyeing the system from a distance for some time now. I’m a chiptune musician first and foremost, so when I searched up music software for the Virtual Boy, I.. didn’t find much. So, I went to work.

…in an art program ^^; Y’see, I’m no programmer, so instead I made a mock-up of a tracker utilizing the VB’s color scheme and resolution. I call it “VSU-Tracker.” And well, perhaps this silly mock-up doesn’t *exactly* fit within the VB’s technical limitations as a whole, but it’s an image of what could be. (I’ve also got a lengthy txt of notes and things I’d put in this program that I figured would be too long to post in here, so just tell me if ya want that :p )

I thought I’d share the idea with a forums of people who’d more than likely have the proper know-how to kick it off, to see what you guys might think. Personally, I think the VSU-VUE is a really nice soundchip, and there’s a lot I’d love to get out of it. There just needs to be a tool that can best utilize it in all its wonderfulness.

Anyways, thanks for reading, heh. I hope this is an idea that might be of interest of you all!

music trackers really are fun. i used to play with Nitro Tracker on the DS for hours, that and Korg DS.

I’ve heard good things about NitroTracker. I suppose I oughta try it out sometime, even just for the novelty (since it is essentially FastTracker II, after all.)

I also never considered it much in all the brainstorming until a couple days ago, but I figure it’d be much easier to create a Windows/etc.-based tracker with some kind of a converter rather than something hardware-based, wouldn’t it? Not that I’m not fine with that, ofc.

I used Little Sound Dj a little at some point, was a little too hard for me but i like being able to use the sound chip and produce sound on the go.
I think the VB definitely needs a tracker of its own, as it is an underrated system it might be able to produce unheard tunes !

Well, i don’t know anything about programming but this is a really neat idea.

Will you make a PC version? I wanted to make music for that poor red console.

So… sorry, I don’t quite have the skills or knowledge to. I just wanted to pitch the idea in hopes that maybe someone would’ve been interested in picking it up. If someone does, then hey, I’ve got quite a bit of ideas scribbled down on how I’d like to see it work, and not just one simple mock-up image. I’ve been planning things out :p

Sorry about that, I thought it is a real program. Anyways, I have came up with another VSU tracker mockup.
