Why do people say waterworld is the worst VB game? I think it is not that bad. Virtual lab and 3D Tetris are my least favorite VB games

I agree, actually I really like WaterWorld. It’s essentially 3D Asteroids, in fact I’d like to see someone modify the code to be 3D Asteroids.

Virtual Lab is by far the worst VB game in my opinion. It looks like something a kid in junior high made in his computer class, and plays only slightly better than that.

In my opinion that title goes to Virtual League Baseball. I absolutely HATE that game.

I have virtual league new in the box (one of the $20 ebay listings that seems to never run out). Maybe so many never sold because word got around that it sucked.

It seems as though it’s actually easier to find Virtual League sealed. But yes that’s the worst game on VB followed by Virtual Lab.

I really don’t think WaterWorld is a bad game at all, it’s very arcade like.

I like how immersive Waterworld is, and that’s not just a water joke. I know, it’s hard for a VB game NOT to be immersive, but games like Tetris, Panic Bomber, Virtual lab etc. aren’t actually trying to immerse anyone, they’re just puzzle games you’re watching with your face in a machine. Then there’s games like Jack Bros and Vertical Force that are immersive-ish, but the gameplay perspective don’t make me feel like I’m somewhere else. With Waterworld set in the ocean, the overwhelming blackness of the VB display is an asset rather than a setback, and I feel like I’m on the ocean.

Wario Land and Mario Clash are oddly immersive as well; I feel like I’m underground playing them. Even though you’re climbing a tower in Clash.

I think most VB games should have been in first person. First person Mario, tennis, fps, shmup… would have been cool but only 2 games (teleroboxer and innsmouth no yakata) felt like virtual reality. Games like waterworld and the homebrew racing games also felt somewhat like virtual reality
