Hi everybody 🙂 I’m building an Arcade machine and I thought about how one of the Virtual Boy store displays had a Optical Illusion that displayed the words Virtual Boy in a semi infinite 3D sort of way. Kinda had the words Virtual Boy layered over and over, well I was wondering if anyone knows what that is called or how to make the illusion work cause it gave me a great idea for my arcade marquee. I don’t know what it’s called, but I guess what you are looking for is a kind of holographic effect. I don’t know how to get it to work, but I guess there are businesses out there which make holograms with whatever image/text you want. It might help searching for “hologram creation” in google. Good luck!

I believe it’s called an Infinity Mirror. You basically have a mirror in the back with a two-way mirror facing inward… then some sort of lighted object in between. The two-way mirror reflects some of the light back to the mirror and lets some through, which gives it the “infinity” look.
