As with pretty much every main mario game I attempted collecting everything in Super Mario 3D World. After collecting all stars, stamps and flagpoles (one player, always Mario) I got access to the Champion’s Road. That wasn’t too hard after all even though some levels can be tricky.
However, the Champion’s Road is pretty hard and I have not beaten it so far. Just for fun I tired beating it without a Tanooki Suit but I don’t think I will ever make that. The switching blocks are just too tricky.
So, who has beaten the Champion’s Road?
I finished the Toad level and Box House, but not Champion’s Road yet, I will however.
I will never make it because I don’t have the patience to even get all the stars in every level. The same thing went for Super Mario 3D Land, where I gave up at special world 7 somewhere.
I’m fine with stopping after the credits, everything else after that is a bonus to me.
I can’t even make it to the castle in level 4 because I need fifty stars and I only have 41. Wish the stars weren’t a fricking requirement. So I don’t even know what the Champion’s Road even IS, let alone see it myself.

I usually stop after the credits as well. The only exceptions are Mario and Assassins Creed. For some reason I enjoy collecting everything in those games.
I still plan to beat the Champion’s Road. Some day I have to finish the last worlds of the Lost Levels as well. I think I’m stuck in B-4 or something.
I am actually still on my way to getting all of the green stars in Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the first time, as my nephew and/or niece sometimes make me play the game when I am spending time with them. I actually didn’t realize that I hadn’t gotten everything in the game initially until playing it with them recently, and I usually do try to get everything in all Mario games. Still haven’t gotten a WiiU yet, but that day should come sometime down the road.
I unlocked the last world yesterday. Easily beat the Toad level, but the Box house and Champion’s Road are freaking unforgiving. The latter seems to be even harder than the final level of Super Mario 3D Land, doesn’t it? I finally beat that one with both Mario and Luigi about three weeks ago and it honestly took me like a hundred tries.

I actually thought the last level of Super Mario 3D Land wasn’t that hard. The last level of Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the other side was very very hard. I perfected running through that level only to fail on the Hammer-/Boomerang Bros right before the end over and over again.
I didn’t play Super Mario 3D World since I wrote the initial post. I’m confident I can beat the level with power ups though. I find the Box house (all of them actually) a bit annoying as just the timer makes it complicated.
Finally beat it with Rosalina and two Tanooki Suits. That was a really tough but very well designed level! Beating it is basically like learning the perfect choreography to dash through the level, step by step. Always perfecting the earler parts a bit more and getting a bit farther. I don’t know if I want to beat it with the other characters as well though, I would probably prefer to have a walk through Mordor with my feet tied together. 😉
I decided to give this level one more try. I spent way more time figuring out a good strategy then I like to admit. This evening I finally beat it using Mario with a Tanooki Suit and a Cat Suit. After that I’ve beaten it with Luigi, Peach, Toad and Rosalina with the same items. Took a couple of tries each.
Still need to beat that stupid Box house though.
